Who do you want to be ND's new coach?

Urban Meyer
Brian Kelley
Mike Riley
Chris Petersen
Jeff Jagodzinski
Brady Hoke
Tim Brewster
Paul Johnson
Jim Grobe
Randy Edsall
Kyle Whittingham

I would gladly take any of these coaches over Weis, because they have all proven that they can win with inferior talent to what this Notre Dame team has now. With the exception of Florida, all of these teams have less talent than Notre Dame this year, and yet every one of these coach's teams would beat Notre Dame.

Meyer or Stoops? Are you guys serious? KEEP DREAMING!!!

Let's try to be real here. If you're going to say those guys, at least be honest and say we have no chance of getting them. Especially Stoops. HE AIN'T COMING!!!

Just a little write up on charlie and having to wait on national championships. Thought it could cool some nerves, or at least hopefully. Idk what the answer is, but until we can see a definate solution or answer lying ahead, i dont think we should just jump ship. Link below.

Or you taking the time to read it, then complain about it? If you are tired of it, then why keep reading it?

How about Mark May? That moth&*#$%@r knows everything about college football !!!!!

Hard to say fellas who could take us back to the top. There are some fine choices out there. If I had my pick of who was available right now it would be Bill Cowher. He is a hard-nose, do it my way or the highway kind of coach. You guys here who want the real nasty???... I think Cowher is the kind of guy who can do it.

This has been debated ad nauseum. Cowher is an NFL coach. I don't think he fits the mould.

how do you know that Cowher would a) want to deal with recruiting and b) adjust his coaching style from the NFL to college?

we just had a failed experiment with an NFL guy. We need to get a marquee coach from a Div 1 school. If we can't get one to come we should probably stick with Weis for another year.

one of my son's sent me this link. He sure makes a strong case for Meyer.

Notre Dame, Meyer seem like perfect fit | floridatoday.com | FLORIDA TODAY

I really, really hope Charlie turns things around though so that we don't have to go through all of this again.

For any of the nay-sayers about Cowher, I will entertain any of you that can show me any faults in his style or record as a Head Coach. Not an offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator in the Pros. Don't let CW stain your image of an NFL coach because I think that is really getting in the way of seeing the positives of Cowher. There is a big difference in Head Coaching ability and OC or DC in football. I think that Cowher has plenty to show that he knows what he is doing and can do it at any level.

Does that writer realize that Shawshank Redemption was a work of fiction? Not really going to pin my hopes of anything on a Stephen King short story. My car is having problems, but hey, that car Christine came through when it got tough.

It's actually not that bad of an article and it was interesting to read how long other programs have waited. I just thought the Shawshank comparison was kind of dumb.

I would take Harbaugh over Charlie

I would take Harbaugh over Charlie

Jim Harbaugh! LOLOLOL

Harbaugh has beaten USC and gets more out of his players than most coaches. I also like Mike Reilly or even Stoopes brother in Arizona. I haven't set the bar too high. We need someone who can get his kids fired up!

easy on the personal attacks there chief.

Any suggestion of a NFL coach for ND at this juncture is a stupid suggestion. Not to mention one that has never been a graduate assistant, position coach, coordinator, or head coach before in college. The last time Cowher had something to do with a college program was when he played linebacker for NC State in 1978. yeah. Great idea.

When people like you comment on stupid suggestions, I really start to believe that people around me that dislike ND are right. This forum is made for comments and suggestions that we can talk about and agree to disagree. I don't care if you disagree with me but, suggesting my comment is stupid reflects that I am stupid. You have just confirmed that I do not belong in this forum anymore and you know what, I don't want to be a part of it anymore. I now know why people do not like ND fans is because ND has fans like you that call ND fans or suggest their ideas are stupid.

Good luck to you being an Irish fan and calling more members and their ideas stupid.

Moderator, please take my name off of this forum. This is ridiculous. I thought this might be fun.

Good luck to all of you. Dizzy

Excellent points. I know he probably is a longshot but he is a proven winner as a Head coach. He would bring instant credibility and would garner respect from any program in the country. If I was ND I would offer him whatever it takes. Look no further than to Sneaky Pete at SC as to what a Pro coach can become.

Proven winner at the Pro level. Sneaky Pete was a failure in the pro ranks.

i never called you stupid. nor did i imply that someone who says something stupid is automatically a stupid person. Smart people say stupid things too. I think your idea is uneducated and informed as such. that is all. It was not a personal attack, merely stating that i though what you said did not follow any logical conclusion using thought and reason. defend your position with some facts or reasoned and thoughtful opinion rather than running away.

Has anyone heard of Chuck Martin

Currently head coach at Green Valley State, Div II. He took over that program from Brian Kelly and has ran with it for the past 5 years. Got a winning percentage of over 90% I believe.

He might not be ready for the big time of HC of a Div IA school just yet, but could be a great assistant...maybe our future "HC in waiting..."

Some guy that will lead ND to 70-0 victories every game, and help my pp forget short and shriveled stuff. Usually aims to the right. Don't know why.

(Anyone notice my new avatar? Dude is badass waiting to strike kneecaps.)

Laker fan here. I live 15 minutes from campus. Chuck Martin is a great coach but he's definately not ready for the next level yet. Give him 7-10 years and maybe. Good call though dude.
