Anyone plan on going to the national tit le game? I BOOKED hotel because the prices are gettign outrageous and there booking up, i also got a ticket just in case if not i will resell it. tickets almost doubled on stubhub. Cant wait, i love fighting irish. i am planning on making t shirt F SEC to wear around tailgating, i live in louisiana and looking for some good sayings to mess with fellow sec lovers, any ideas ?
Question: If we beat USC and finish the regular season number 1 in the AP/ other polls, but then lose to Alabama in the NCG do we still claim this year as a National title?
Notre Dame has beaten three of those 25. Only Florida, i believe, has also done that.
So much for whether we are earning it.
#12.
But wouldn't it be 2012?
National Championship Game is played in 2013. That said... it would be 13-0 for us to be national champions.
BTW where is the IrishDuck NDOM?
FBS NCAA College Football Championship History - NCAA.com
We would be 13-0-0. 2012 National Champions according to the NCAA.com website (Alabama is the 2011 National Champions).
Isn't ND going to be 7 tomorrow? Tonight just proves the domination of the SEC
Totally agree, I can't believe Bama would go and schedule Western Carolina after the span of games they've played. I was worried they would put up loss #2 this season, but luckily they prevailed, as did the rest of the SEC in the top 10, some pretty stiff competition this week for them.
In other news...Headlines….
• LSU blows out 5-5 Ole Miss by 6. Funny, Les pulled out the ND/Pitt card “there’s a tradition of close games with this rivalry”
• Alabama blows out 9th ranked Southern Conference powerhouse West Carolina.
• Florida hangs almost quarter of a hundred over 6-5 OVC giant Jacksonville State
• SC hammers Wofford, another Southern Conference goliath, buy 17
• In another historic in-state rivalry, UGA pounds yet another Southern Conference contender.
Yesterday’s dominance truly shows the SEC is miles ahead of every other team and conference in D-1 football. Hell, they should just go ahead and rename “football”, “SECball”. The true national champion will be waged in the Georgia Dome in a few weeks.
The number one is up on top of Grace ready to be lit tonight!! Just walked by the library and saw it in the background.
