It was definitely not an exact quotation, so quotation marks should not have been used. But yes, he clearly does not want to continue the series based on what he did say.

No sympathy for him, he could have stayed at UNLV for another year and held out for a better gig than Purdue. Dropping ND is the difference between 4-8 and 5-7 there. He skipped town because he wanted the money and the buyout. He'll be getting it soon.

I think a lot of Ethan Long, he’s been very productive whenever he’s been given a chance, and think he’d be a starter already on most BK Defenses. Curious what the mix is with him and JOB as discussed above they will sling it around

That was my takeaway as well. You want to keep playing the game, you state it. B1G a bunch of softies.

More what I was getting at. It's semantics. I agree he probably doesnt want to have an auto loss on his schedule when he's trying to keep his job.

Anyone with Xfinity cable Internet (Comcast) needs to check if they get Peacock for free.

They call their subs a membership now (don't get me started on that subject) and award perks based in part on how long you've "been a member."

I only have their Internet (not tv sub) but have had it for 20 years, so I get "platinum level" perks, of which a free sub to peacock premium is one.

You may be able to get that so check it out
Spectrum customers get all the apps for free that have corresponding channels. Such as Peacock, paramount+, FoxOne, Hulu, ESPN…..

I know both of those guys are talented but this worries me a bit. Not a lot game experience and going against a team that is going to chunk the ball.

Purdue's defense is really bad. We can talk about every aspect of this game and all the intangibles, but I keep coming back to that as the center of the game on paper. Their defense is pretty terrible.

If our offense doesn’t completely dominate we may be in trouble in a few games the rest of the year. I watched a few of their games and that defense might be worse than Rice. I was a little worried about their offense until I watched the Wake Forest game. That game ended 38-36 so I thought their offense had put up some points but the truth is Wake was up 23-10 with 5 mins left. I think we will give up some points but unless Joey O’Brien is a huge liability I have a hard time seeing them getting to 20

I have high expectations as much as anyone but listening to the II guys you’d think we barely squeaked by Wisconsin and Michigan State and didn’t beat rice 52 to 0.

Has the run game been great… no. But CJ IMO is even better than I expected so far, which is Even more important. If You have the best quarterback and defense in the country, yoire not losing many games if at all.

This program is on a 13 game winning streak and broke a school record for consecutive wins by double digits. I realize that sports fans are not a beacon for rational thought, but you would think that at least for a brief second, ND fans would stop to think about this for a moment. The fact there is more angst and concern than joy and enjoyment just seems really weird.

Fun is winning and wining is fun.

I’m beginning to believe those guys just aren’t very bright.

The criticism of the MSU/Wisconsin games all rests on the game was played in a phone booth and ND should have gotten it out of there. When both those programs are good, everyone has to play those games with them. Even Wisconsin under Fickell versus IU, Oregon, OSU etc has basically carbon copy had these games. Of course it was at 2:30 in Week 9 so no one watched. I would be surprised if Wisconsin isn’t competitive with PSU for a while. MSU - Nebraska, I feel like any which way could happen.

The problem with some people (writers, casters, IE posters, etc.) , is they have this idea that "Leaving No Doubt" means every game is going to be a blowout from start to finish. They forget that the opposition isn't going to simply rollover because ND got screwed last year.

I think I feel so confident in this game to say that a ND backup will have more passing yards than Carr.

Eh, my concerns have been that when we face teams with better athletes, they can just sit in a 2 high shell and put 6 in the box too and we're in real trouble offensively. until our run game becomes effective, the book on limiting this offense has been written. i'm not overly concerned yet because 1) rudolph's lines generally are a mess at the beginning of the year but dramatically improve thereafter especially given that we have more runway this year 2) people are discounting that with our defense, we're going to drag you down in the muck and might not need 35 points to win.

I think the BYU game will be the perfect midterm for how the team is shaping up. If we can start dictating to a good defense rather than "take what they're giving us", we'll be cooking with gas.

I am not enamored with the four TD line mainly b/c of risk of 4Q garbage points for Purdue. I would not be surprised if Purdue has more T/Os than TDs.

Probably my favorite line for this game is Irish D/ST +300 to score a TD. We have four dudes rated more like to score a TD than not - that's absurd. Carr needs to stop checking and start chucking to put up some eye popping numbers.

I think easier said than done for some teams. And that’s why we will see what PSU and Nebraska do this weekend.

DokterEntropy's (the most accurate comp ratings) current power ratings. Effectively tied for 1st still after a "slow" start. We'd be a 5pt favorite on a neutral field to Miami, 15 to BYU, and 16 to SMU.

Very surprised by the BYU point spread. Wouldn't be shocked if they're tougher out than Miami when the dust settles.
