Boot no crutches can basically only be ankle sprain, broken foot, or turf toe. Turf toe could actually last all season, other two ~6 week injuries.
Turf toe survivor since I was 18. I’m now 34. It never goes away lol

Contract year for Brauntae. Give him 2-3 games off and he'll be ready for the stretch.
Let ND flex that safety depth with Talich (gonna create 5 to's), Long and O'Brien. Free/ Martin built the roster to withstand these body blows.

Gout is no joke.

Worst fucking pain I've ever been in, and I've been through two major back surgeries.
Gout is like a thousand daggers in your foot, can't even press on it without excruciating pain for those that haven't had it.
I tried minimizing it with diet for 20 years because I didn't want to be on a daily pill starting in my 20s. I finally started taking Alopurinol and now I can have red meat whenever I want. Seriously though, fuck gout.

Yep. There should be underground gout sufferer meetings.

Don’t want to derail, but had several attacks for the first time this year. Specialist said diet doesn’t contribute as much as some think, but the two worst things to eat are shellfish and aspartame. Beer as well.

I am no doctor, but I would take a walking boot over crutches any day. Did anyone else catch Tae & KVA at the end of the game? His demeanor was as if nothing is too serious. Get healthy Tae!
Yeah, he did not look like someone who had a serious/season-ending injury.

Ive never seen gout in someone less than 30. I’m sure it occurs, but I’ve never seen it in nearly 20 years of primary care experience, which includes the Samoan islands (gout central). Frank didn’t seem so sure about the length of his time out this morning on his Frank commetary.

Hopefully comment was some weird joke, but just in case: Aspartame does NOT cause gout. Aspartame is a mini molecular combo of amino acids (NOT sugars), and has no metabolic linkage to Uric Acid production. So ... why did I bother to write this? Because drinking stuff with artificial sweeteners is WAY better than drinking the same stuff with SUGAR (which DOES trip off gout attacks.)

A molecular-level gout discussion in the player threads? We’re entering MBG material, here…

Good to know. There's a coke zero in my fridge I've been avoiding!

Anything today on our presumably not-gout-afflicted safety?
Did he initially get banged up on the play he jumped the route and almost picked it off?

The Wisconsin player tackled him awkwardly and it looked like his leg got caught under.

Only other time I remember him was the 3rd down play when they ran the bunch set, motion to a slant and he slipped a bit.

Wasn’t a joke. Not sure where you got that, but nobody said aspartame causes gout. When discussing factors I mentioned diet. The Rheumatologist said diet doesn’t have that great of an effect on attacks, but if I want to minimize risk, I should avoid shellfish and aspartame.

For clarification, Gout happens when the body makes too much uric acid and the kidneys can’t get rid of all of it.

Sorry to derail fellas. Just wanted to clarify.
