They have to lose at least 3. With the losses o/u at 3.5, I’ll take the over for now and have no reason to doubt it until I see how they perform in front of all those Duck fans in the Coliseum. If they lay a monster egg vs the Quackers, I could see them falling apart and dropping 6-7.

USC is super soft on the road. I think they lose at Penn State and at Indiana (although wouldn't it be funny). They play Oregon and Ohio State at home, should be two more losses. Then you have Washington at home and UCLA & Wisconsin away perhaps as a 5 loss? 7-5 Sun Bowl against Kansas State sounds about right.

I could see them losing to Oregon, OSU, and Indiana for sure. They could then easily drop the 4th to Washington (Unlikely) or maybe Penn State (Very possible if Campbell does a quick turn around). The rest of the schedule is garbage.

I hope they don't. It's fun taunting their fans that they have yet to even make any iteration of the playoff, not to mention none of their current players were alive or remember the last time they were good.

Nah. In this day and age, the mark of a successful season is making the playoffs. Even if you're smoked in the first round, what people will remember is whether you made the CFP or not. I don't want USC to succeed. I want them to fail, and then this offseason to burn as Troy did at the hands of the Greeks.

(And as others have said, with their Big 10 schedule, three losses is likely, 4+ quite possible. Going 10-2 would mean they beat a Top 10 team and I don't want that for them either).

The one thing they have going for them is they are a young team. Guys will be playing for starting spots next year, or NIL deals when they all leave after Riley gets canned.

USC is exceptionally vulnerable to the attendance issues ravaging college football these days (apathy, entertainment options, subatandard product) but they've done nothing to help themselves either.

It's happening nearly everywhere. USC happens to be a really good poster boy for it.

If this were ever the case at ND I’d be so disappointed and beat down as a fan I wouldn’t care about the outside jokes. It’d just be sheer internal disappointment.

But in the state of vanity I guess the perception matters more than reality.

Also the downside of being "LA's NFL team" is that LA now has two actual NFL teams, unlike when USC was King Shit under Pete Carroll. I'd think the Dodgers juggernaut draws attention away as well.

The market and mediocre football are material issues. But they have heaped on the cumulative anchor of blowing up so much tradition. Not just for themselves, but across college football. Conference realignment killed lots of CFB tradition, but no single school has done as much direct damage as USC. And to gain so little from it all! Nobody wants to drink from the fountain USC is serving.

Honestly surprised i dont see this point brought up more. From 1995-2015 there was no NFL in LA. 2002-2008 was the recent golden age of USC football. Every year they miss the playoffs, it's just going to get worse and worse.
