I have not felt they are one of the best 2-3 teams in the country since childhood... they need to win it all this year. I honestly have very little left to give over here,... lol

I like the hype and expectations. I'm sure the coaching staff is doing everything to tune it out of the locker room and have everyone locked in on Lambeau. As fans, though, this is awesome.

I definitely think that's the coaching staff's biggest challenge this year is how do you drown out then noise and keep the boys locked in and pissed off about what happened last December.

Agreed though as a fan, I've been waiting my whole life to hear this kind of narrative surround ND approaching a new season. Only once can I remember this much offseason hype and that was '06 (started ranked #2 behind OSU).

I trust Freeman and the staff to have a focused, fired up football time.

I also don’t get all the love for them. “This is Riley’s best defense he’s put together!” I’m pretty sure I hear this every offseason. They lost a lot of talent at the WR position but I will give them QB, Maiava is talented. They will be 9-3 at best.

9-3 isn't bad for them. They probably miss the playoffs at 9-3 since Texas did, but that requires them to sweep the gimmes and go 2-3 against Washington, PSU, Oregon, IU, and OSU. That's a solid year for USC against this schedule.

Still plenty of people picking Texas because the SEC just HAS to win it one of these years, right? Oregon also super popular pick because they are the only B10 power team that hasn't won it recently. The thing with Oregon though is this is the same story with then every year. TONS of talent. Poised to win it all under Lanning. Then shit the bed.

My confidence in the championship run is built around Carr. I have a buddy who loves college football but he's a scUM fan. He knows ND is going to be good this year and is setting himself up to be ready to hear the noise of the Irish. But what caught him off guard was my confidence that ND won't just be good, they're going to win it all. I said IF CJ Carr plays up to the level everyone seems to expect, this team WILL win. The defense is going to be top 5. The big question on offense is basically, how good will they be? We know they'll be good enough to win games and make the playoffs. But can they be elite? I think that hinges on Carr.

And to hedge what I said to him, I made a very clear hot take comment: "If CJ Carr has a Heisman-caliber season, ND will win the championship."

I think CJ will be good and ND will win a ton of games. But if the season kicks off and CJ is abusing defenses, guys...it's over....crown ND. This team is so stacked and should absolutely wreck teams if they stay focused.

If CJ Carr is a Heisman Finalist, Irish Eyes will be smiling and they will be crowned a long awaited Championship!

Texas isn't a real SEC team.
Georgia (on offense) and Bama lack the high-end talent. LSU is mercenaries who'll fold at the first sign of a fight.
Oregon remains Oregon, as you say. Suspect until they prove otherwise.
Indiana takes a step back. So does Miami. Texas Tech is clowns.
It's us and Ohio State, only Carr is better than Sayin. And our DBs are better than their WRs.
This is is our year. That's my prediction.

Agree with 95% of that BUT I believe Oregon and ND are the best teams in the country.

We have the talent, depth, coaching, and schedule to win it all. We just have to survive the first 3-4 games. If we can avoid early season face plants, the momentum we will build could prove to be unstoppable. We rode a 13 game win streak 2 years ago, and a 10 game streak last year. I believe this will be a special season.
