I do think there’s some ulterior motives by these guys like Rece Davis having ND as #1 and national champs when they were leading the anti-ND charge last December. They’ll be able to feign that they were ND’s biggest supporters at the start of the year if the season goes awry in anyway outside Miami

Yeah that's occurred to me too. It's almost a win/win for them... If they're right they can puff their chests out and act like they were early adopters. If they're wrong, they can bash the shit out of ND for not living up to the hype. Oh well, we'll just have to win the whole fucking thing I guess.

Yep. In general, in my experience, we do better when the hype is less. I’m fine with us at 4 or 5. #1 makes me nervous.

I used to feel the exact same way until very recently. Didn't like that he's a Miami guy and would seem to take shots at ND. But he's married to a ND fan and we can be insufferable at times. He's also extremely knowledgeable about CFB and doesn't seem to pull any punches.

The Pat MacAfee Sporting Network, Fox and whomever will get to choose whatever narrative they want regardless of what they say now and what comes to fruition come Thanksgiving.

I like the hype and expectations. I'm sure the coaching staff is doing everything to tune it out of the locker room and have everyone locked in on Lambeau. As fans, though, this is awesome.

Idk. We’ll see. I could see them going 9-3. I don’t really get the Arthur Smith hire. He was really bad in Pittsburgh and almost ruined Bijan in Atlanta.
