No way he'd call a press conference to say he's leaving. The Steelers or any other NFL team would totally handle the situation differently. You wouldn't hear about it first at his current jobs facility.
Also, I've seen like 20+ names tossed around for NFL jobs, and none are college coaches. I think we are more worried then we need to be right now. NFL is seemingly very motivated to have people with NFL experience.
Finally, I hope tomorrow is a "State of the Union" type press conference. By that I mean, tell us your story. What's the state of the program right now? The vibes in the locker room. Direction were headed and how you plan on getting there. I'd love nothing more than Freeman to get up, speak on what's on his mind as a program for 20 minutes, and then walk off. No questions, no nothing.
This off-season has been written by all the media and painted in a rather dim light. This is the chance to remove that power from them and tell your own story. Give em nothing. And put the country on notice that we're pissed off and motivated properly to rip heads off next year.
"CFP committee, we heard you. ACC, we heard you. Media, we heard you." Just leave it at that.
