He'll be the next Percy Harvin......

(PSSST. Percy Harvin went to Fla, and helped them beat OSU. Would have been a great college player but was a poor human being, helped along by his coach.)

Tonight at the Arcadia Invitational in California, Devin is a 5 time champion in all 5 events he competed in. He had a HUGE weekend!

1. His team won the invitational hurdle shuttle relay. He was anchor and by the time he took off for our last leg, we were DEAD last in the race. He caught everyone. Not only that, but he fell after hitting the last hurdle badly. He did a roll and STILL finished in first.

2. His team also won the 4x100 meter invitational with a time of 41.15. It is 5th fastest in the nation.

3. He won the invitational 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 13.52 breaking his own Arizona state record, and he ran the race tentatively because there was a chance of tail wind pushing him too close to the hurdles. He stands as the #2 hurdler in the nation still but could easily run 13.20s-30s.

4. He won the invitational 300 meter intermediate hurdles with a Arizona state record time of 36.39

and you guys are going to LOVE this:
5. He raced in the invitational 200 meter dash. He was in lane 7 and in lane 6 was none other than RONALD DARBY. 45 minutes after blasting a 300 hurdle race, Devin went all out and won the race! He ran a 21.10, beating Darby! This kid is legit fast. You can't question his speed anymore for sure. I'm going to dinner. Peace.

His 21.10 200m time is faster than Ted Ginn's best, and Allen is just a HS junior. Reggie Bush ran a 21.06 as a junior (I believe also his PR). Chris Johnson's best was a 21.30 as a senior.

His 36.39 300m crushes Ted Ginn's 36.73 best. In fact it's only .05 off of Ohio's track record. Damn.

Ted Ginn's best event was the 110m HH, in which he ran a 13.26. Let's see if Allen can catch him.

He is very very very very very fast.

After Jaylon Smith, I think he's my second favorite prospect.

So his name is Devon, he's white, and he beat Darby in a race?? There goes all of my gambling money.

You bet all your money on Devon White not to win the Darby. What sense have ye? Where do you find the stones to bet against Devon White, boy-o?

Devon Allen inching closer to his childhood dreams

In June, Allen said he would like to take unofficial football visits to Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Northwestern, Purdue and Nebraska.

"I just want to see what every school has to say," Allen said. "I have to get to the end part, sign on the dotted line."

Devon Allen just blew away the field in the 110-meter high hurdles for a state record that hadn't been touched since 1980, but you couldn't tell by his expression.

The Phoenix Brophy Prep junior shrugged off his time of 13.58 seconds at the Chandler Rotary Invitational in March, believing he could have gone faster if not for a couple of technical errors.

Another speedster. You can't have too many. Sign him up, and keep him away from Columbus!

I am Irish, French, and Iriquois. The reason I called him WHITE up above is because that was the elephant in this conversation. That racist thing about speed and skin color reared it's ugly head in this thread (Devon, vs. Darby). How would you like to hear this (repeatedly) if you were (some or all) other than "caucasian?"

As long as Devon is Irish, he can be any--and every--race under the sun.

Arizona State, Washington, Stanford and USC are his favorites at the moment.

Don't read too much into that though because those are the ones he has visited.

Isn't that what we said about Neal last year?

No but i did say that about Heuerman. I am just saying his dad went there and most OSU fans think once he gets back on campus it will be hard for him to say no.
