Maybe they want to see if he is legit 6'1" before they offer?

The only ILB that I would think we would have rated higher might be Chans Cox.

I thought his grades may be hindering the offer? Not his attributes?.

This is what I've read a few places as well. It's about the only excuse I can think of b/c otherwise I can't see why we wouldn't offer him -- a very highly rated Indiana kid at a position (ILB) where we want to take a couple guys, a kid from Warren Central where we'd like to keep a pipeline going after getting Sheldon Day and where we should have an "in" for that very same reason.

i can't imagine it is too time consuming for them to head by his school to see if he passes the eye test.

Just shooting darts in the dark is all.

The grade situation slipped my mind so that could be it.

For these reasons I think there has to be something else going on. Since I have no idea, I am uncomfortable saying it is grades it could be his interest level, BUT I think it is clear that something is keeping them from offering.

It wouldn't be the first blue chipper that had little/no interest that ND offered. Hell, this would be one of the closer ones (as far as proximity).

No I definitely hear you, I was just saying since I don't know what it is, I am uncomfortable saying it's his grades, but there must be something.

Found this gem on an OSU board as to why Time has not gotten an offer from OSU yet:

well Dave..... just seems to me like Kimbrough is rather.... well to put it bluntly... dumb as a stump, not the brightest crayon in the box, ect ect ect!! I am so tired of hearing 17 and 18 year old young men grunt for answers. TP did this too.... and he came up with the brilliant idea that "everyone kills someone sometime! I'm guessing that his ACT is a 10 or so and OSU is waiting to see if he can get it to a what... 14! Now i understand the tragedy of many of our athletes socio-economic struggles. But why hasn't someone stepped up at this point to provide him with some mentoring. I guess I'd rather have an intelligent three star player than a young man filled with entitlement that could pull a program down again

Still want to go to OSU Tim?

Thats just the crazy message board fans. I know other schools quote some of the thing that are said on here and say the same thing.

Don't think I've ever seen someone get called "dumb as a stump" on this board.

I wonder if they were going to offer him or not... Hard to think he got his grades up so quickly.

If we are able to pull Kim and Jaylon, it'd be amazing. Just saying.

hmmmm ..... he was originally scheduled to visit pOSU this weekend but an pOSU board claimed he cancelled. He doesn't have a pOSU offer either. pOSU boards are convinced that he loves them and would commit on the spot if he were to get one. They may not be as optimistic after this weekend.

It isn't like he has an offer from us either, but the fact he is coming here instead of Columbus is a plus.

He's listed as having camped at OSU and UTN but doesn't have an offer from either.

He's a consensus Top 5 ILB by the services and has an offer from Vandy so he doesn't appear to have academic concerns. Maybe size does matter.

Phil Steele listed 57 TOP Div 1 ILB last season and 34 of were 5-11 to 6-1.

Their height is a little different but Luke Kuechly was 6'3" 220 with a 4.7 40 coming out of HS
Luke Kuechly - Yahoo! Sports

Kimbrough is two inches shorter but similar weights at 225 and runs a 4.57. Both are/were tackling machines. If grades aren't the issues I say we should pop on this kid. Two ILB from IN-STATE! Hard to turn down imo.

As of right now, if he had offers from both, I think he would still go to OSU. He has liked them for a really long time.

I'm not one who worries about ones height as much as some. As Keuchly showed last year, its not always about your measurables as much as it is about intangibles. If Kimbrough has the grades, I say offer him, the kids a machine. I watched their game last year against Cathedral, and he was all over the field.

I don't care about height at all for ILBs. See: London Fletcher. If you're a playmaker with instincts that's all that matters.
