Talked to my friend today who works out at AWP in Fort Wayne with Jaylon and Jaylon told him he likes Notre Dame, Ohio St, and Florida the most in no particular order. Also said ND is at him hard and there isn't a problem at OSU with his brother, but that his brother is switching to linebacker this season.

Well that kind of puts a damper on all the "ND leads for Jaylon" stuff we've heard lately. Really hope that Jaylon was just trying to keep things close to the vest. I would absolutely HATE it if he went to OSU.

Yeah, get him around kids that just committed, get him in an environment that is even better than junior day (Spring Game), and man, let's just hope he pulls the trigger.

It would be great if the weather was perfect for the Spring Game too.

My boss at work who is a huge OSU fan, and follows college football more closely than most of us put together, told me that he wouldn't be too surprised to see his brother leave OSU after this season if his PT doesn't increase. His brother isn't as happy as some think, and Jaylon, as far as he knows, is a ND lean at this point. Things could always change, but he knows his stuff. He thinks Jaylon is trying to keep things close to the vest, so nobody will bother him as much. Take it for what its worth.

I remember reading earlier that his brother is moving to LB from RB. Typically you don't move a player from one side of the ball to the other to get him more PT. You do it to solidify depth. That would reinforce your boss's thoughts. Like hearing from an OSU fan that Jaylon is an ND lean. Thanks for the heads up.

after being on the sour end of the Justice League and the Bang Bang Gang i just cant get very excited about recruits recruiting other recruits. the last time this actually worked out was when Dayne committed!

Or are they moving his brother to LB and pitching Jaylon on play Side By Side with your brother.?

We're getting more PT for Niklas by switching sides, but yeah sometimes that isn't a great sign for a player.

Niklas was seen as either a TE, DE, or OT based on which recruiting service one subscribes to. Rod Smith was a consensus 4:s: RB on Scout, ESPN, 24/7, and Rivals. He was a top 10 in some of those. Not likely to flip a highly touted RB to LB because he's a better position fit.

Anyway, we all can agree that this likely helps us with Jaylon.

He'll be a RS SO next year. Had 29 carries for 116 yards last year...but only got attempts in 3 of the first 4 games of the season.

How good is his brother? Is it possible for us to have an avaiable spot for him?

I have no clue about his current academic standing. However, I do know that he did have some academic issues just to become eligible for OSU for his freshman year. He had to take a couple of summer courses and didn't get cleared by the NCAA until the beginning of September. He had missed so much practice time that OSU pretty much had no choice but to red shirt him his Freshman year.

There is a lot of truth to this......he went to Harding High, here in Ft. Wayne, which had been on academic probation more than a few times. Its no longer open as a High School. Jaylon attends Bishop Luers, which, academically speaking is way above what his brother had to do at Harding.
