Yea Hargreaves topped off with some depth players like Chad Johnson, Micheal Vick, Nick Fairley, Charles Woodson, Deion Sanders, should wrap up the class nicely

Is it weird that I'm expecting a new ND commit to announce every minute since Malik?

So you're saying there's a chance?

Ezekiel Elliot is being recruited as an athlete and could play corner as well. Kelly told him that he has a 50/50 shot at playing RB/CB... If we land Ryan Green, Ezekiel will probably play CB. Tre Bell, Kinlaw, and Elliot would be a pretty nice CB haul... Wouldnt mind adding another top name to that list (someone we dont fully expect to come to ND) and then Kelly will have a choice of where to put Elliot.

I think recruiting Ezekiel Elliot as a CB/RB is ultimately going to cost us his commitment and send him to either OSU or Missouri. I hope I'm wrong but I don't buy that he's really open to the idea of playing DB. I think he wants to be a RB.

4 OL commits, 6-6, 6-6, 6-7, and 6-9. Holy hell, bring on intramural basketball!

According to Will Biggers on BG he believes that the situation with Ryan Green is that Green wants to talk it over with his family at home before he commits or doesn't commit. Having a Notre Dame fan (Riley Gibbons) in the car with him for 20 hours can't hurt either.

I cautiously agree w/ this. I said it in another thread we have to handle his recruitment correctly because he is ours to lose

That being said: Zeke's character + parents > Zeke's ego

Recruiting Elliot as a RB/CB is the same as recruiting Anzalone as a LB/RB. Nothing wrong with way they are recruiting him.

Elliot stated in a interview that he has no preference on what he plays... I loved the way he said it as well, he didnt give the typical "Wherever the teams needs me line." He simply said no, almost like it was a foolish question.

I still think recruiting Anzalone as a RB is a waste of time, seems like a great LB recruit to me, my opinion though.

Watching Anzalone's tape, I just can't see him at RB. It kind of reminds me of Perkins last year in that he's productive enough, but I see their skillsets much more applicable to LB at the college level.

I think and hope this is the case as well primarily because it might ease our concerns that he's an impressionable guy and would commit based purely upon emotion. I really think that after the drive home and sitting down, he might wait to commit, but I really love our chances. Would love to have him... That kind of athlete is always extremely valuable.

Per II I believe he is staying tonight in Knoxville and will finish the drive home tomorrow.

All BCS-level OTs should be 6'6+. The 6'9 is unbelievable and he's just a junior in high school. You could see a 6'10 OT.

Hell with Corey Robinson you could see a 7'0 WR...

Zack Martin is 6'4" and he's pretty darn good.

Re, O-Line height: remember guys that the point at the top of your head [where the measuring rod rests,] is of almost zero importance. It's how long your arm levers are. The fact that they correlate usually with how long your legs and spine are is the only thing which makes the top-of-head measurement somewhat informative. The point here being, what's a guy like Zach Martin have for useful "extension"? For all we know he could be a bridge troll with a seven foot wingspan.

The "goodness" of an OT is also dependent upon a lot of other things of course, some of which could be related to height. Flexibility, knee-bending rather than waist-bending, top/bottom coordination, footspeed and nimbleness --- all of these [which I picked because statistically they often get worse as the body parts grow longer] have to be there as well. The "height" thing is just to provide one absolute "physics" advantage if all other elements are equal. As modern nutrition and early body training have worked their obvious magic on younger generations, more flexible, coordinated, and nimble giants have resulted, and the NFL grows slowly in size.

Still, we see an apparent line-in-the-sand right now at about 6'10" for football skill and durability. Whereas strength training, infant nutrition, and early athletic involvement can do astounding things, the ability of the human connective protein structures to deal with repetitive stronger and stronger stress, as well as sudden catastrophic stress, seems to be becoming a limiting factor. Visualize a very tall athlete getting blasted around the waistline and the connective tissues wildly whipping about on those longer levers --- force is greater with the greater acceleration at the end of a long "stick". It will be interesting to see if today's athletes can "survive" the forces that they are already taking, let alone what would come with greater levers to deliver and receive more powerful force generation.

I agree. Anybody in addition to the 3 I listed would be icing. Also, landing Zaire could heat things up with Foster over the next 10 months...

Sampson on II says he'll be suprised if ND doesn't land both Mastrogiovanni and Anzalone. Also said we are the clear leader for Smith but Randolph is going to require more work.
