He looks skinny for an OT, but it is probably minimum 2 years before he sees the field. Longo will get him jacked.

Anyone else think we should only take OG's now?

Most these kids can move around on the line if you haven't noticed. haha Ever since BK arrived we've been recruiting BIGS. Everyone we recruit is an athlete, not a position.

The only problem I can see from his film is that he has trouble getting his helmet play side and blocks his man towards the play on run blocks, but his motor/arm length keeps him on his guy and makes potential for some cutbacks. This can easily be worked on and improved though. He has some dominating down blocks and shows a great punch in Pass Blocking.

Great pickup for ND!!! Welcome to the family!

Love the factvthatvthese kids are so big and have yet to put on any serious weight. A few semesters on the weight program and we will have maulers up front. I'm sure one of these kids will be looked at as interior which is a problem I live to hafe

I'm feeling much better after yesterday with this OL class. I saw where Bivin tweeted Munger yesterday and said we only have one spot left in the class. I hope we get Munger or Johnson. Would love to have either one:jump:

I think we would take both. Munger would definately be a guard and Johnson would be another monster on one of the ends

I think someone will definitely jump on that 4th spot very quickly. McGlinchey is another name to watch for a possible imminent commitment. I think that 5th spot will be kept for an elite player like a Pocic or a Tunsil or a Cochran.

As much as I'd like to get Pocic, I just don't see him coming. I know we're not getting Tunsil. Cochran would be a great get, though, and the fact that he's visiting on his own dime, says there's interest. Would still like Munger or Johnson in the OG spot, though.

Loving it. Great to have a player commit to their childhood favorite. Dream come true for him.

Seeing as I am tired as hell of doing Grad work in anticipation of applying to my doctorate program, I have decided to celebrate ND's incredible (yes, incredible) Junior day by breaking down the OL prospects. As much as I love education, there is only so much one can write about technological impacts on inner-city Chicago school children without wanting to run an active drillbit through my eye.
Anyway, Hunter.
• Nice compact base in his kickslide. However, this is a double edge sword so to speak. It's great for bigger DEs that have a power rip/swim/bull. He'll have to learn to elongate his kick and base to deal with 6'6, 286 pound DEs that can speed rush edges.
• Also, his first highlight was awesome. Lead with your best foot forward? F*(@ that noise. I'll just plant someone.
• At times it looks like he's top heavy... leans forward onto his toes to punch instead of hunching down on his base (which he is doing well against lighter guys).
• Active buzzing feet. Oline coach's (me) boner/wet dream.
• Oooo.... comes off the ball from a 3 point to run block.
• Just clipped a kid and didn't get called. Bulldozed him however.
• A few times it seems that he is waiting too long to engage defenders until they are too far into his body. USE YOUR FREAKING GIANT ARMS! YOU COULD DRIVE THE BACKSEAT OF A SMARTCAR!
• I like his first steps. Always gaining vertical ground.
• Pulls well and is pretty good in space.
• Oh my god he is killing people for a stretch. Dominating smaller competition.
• Ducking his head to initiate contact. Hands first meat. Hands first.
• It isn't fair. He is murdering skinny D players.
• 4:30. Crackback. I came.
• He's pretty good at reaching the edge for a hook.
• Some of these runs... For the love of god... why are they drawn up this way. They are working... but this scheme is blowing my mind.
• I enjoy the small v of a woman's neck.
• Okay, back on topic.
• Gets up to the 2nd level real well. He isn't getting knocked off his rail by some incidental contact.
• Also, the arch of the lower back is pretttttttttty much awesome on a lady.
• He may be the biggest center I've ever seen when he lines up there.
• His gun snaps are nice, tight, fast. QB doesn't have to move much to catch them.
• Still at times lets guys too close into his chest. Make contact away from your body.
• Fast enough to get out to the CB on a quick screen.
• Really good in space on SS/CBs, OLBs during the screen package he chose to highlight.
• Fake punt... he'... he is the punter? CANNON!!! No... not really.
• And now the entire Internet knows your number.
I like him. Really has been taught the little things in HS and obviously is able to take control vs. weaker competition. However, this is highlight film. Great pickup by Kelly... especially with Decker/Urbangate last year. Me likely. Me wikley longtime.

Nice breakdown! The only thing I would say against it is that I don't think he clipped the guy! lol. He was within 5 yards of the LOS and the kid turned his back to him so he just rode hime out of bounds right in front of a ref!
