I would hope not. That scholly would be gone for the next 4 years and subtract one from next year's class.

I would love to see Schmidt earn one. But that will hopefully be down the road when he develops into good player and cracks the 2 deep. There would be no reason to give him a scholarship at this point in time.

I agree completely. If he can have half the impact of a walk-on much smaller than him, Mike Anello, I would be more than thrilled, and he would earn a scholarship from ND.

I just watched the video on Joe and I am stunned his offer list is as vacant as it is... This kid reminds me of Councell with his speed and ball-hawking ability. This is a huge get and I truly believe he will be awarded a scholly eventually. With two years of Teo understudy and coaching this kid WILL be on the field.. impacting.

Can we please not create unrealistic expectations for this kid? He went to one of the most prominent high schools in the country and had two four stars as teamates. Every coach in the country has seen him on tape, and they didn't see fit to offer him a scholarship. The comments here are just setting grossly unreasonable expectations. If he contributes, that would be awesome, but we need to ramp things back to what's likely, rather than what's possible.

Kid does not look like a preferred walk-on on tape. Looks legit D1 to me. Actually reminds me of Calabrese's high school film (good range, instictive, and aggressive). Icing!
