He seems like he's fairly short-sighted and easily manipulated by big-time coaches. Its not a bad thing, but it means that he won't be a full commit until NSD and should be recruited as such. Notre Dame should still stay on him hard, but after the season is when we should push really hard for him. I definitely don't see this as a solid commit, and will expect him to decommit at least once in the process.

Says he is s keeping his options open but is still committed. Noted though that Notre Dame is the only school to stop recruiting him.

If they didn't cut guys like this loose; I would just lose a little bit of respect for the staff . . .

Per 247 (who lists him as a soft verbal) plans to OV to UCLA, Boise State, Utah and Notre Dame as well as take unofficals to A&M.

If we arent recruiting him, why would he schedule an official?

We are still recruiting him. Kid is explosive off the edge. Good CAT prospect.

Per II looks like he will official for the Michigan game. Still a UCLA commit but will also official to Udub and Boise St. Likes NDs tradition and also sees how good outs class is shaping up.

So you say there's a chance.....lol. Would love to get him, but the chance is slim I guess.

Was one of top LB performers at the Rivals 100 challenge today.

Hope he comes, and leaves his little boy crap behind. If this kid mans up and committes himself to a goal; he could be scary good.

Hollins isn't coming here. AQM is the perfect cat for if/ when mattingly leaves. Even if Mattingly stays the staff always wanted to add an elite pass rusher.

Yea dont want to take anything away from mattingly because he's a heck of an athlete but if it was between the two, no contest. AQM all day, but because we can lets take both.

Wow, great write-up. Interesting that Kelly is taking a personal interest in his recruitment. I thought Hollins was more of a backup plan but it sounds like we are still sweating Hollins pretty bad. Kind of surprising.

IMO he's option 1A or 1B if we lose Mattingly. I think the staff really loves Mattingly's versatility... but I expect them to take a hard line with him sooner rather than later and him to be gone. His replacement is either going to another LB (likely Hollins or Sav) or a "best available" at another position (Treadwell if he somehow doesn't go to a football factory... which I find unlikely, an elite CB late in the cycle, etc.). I think that is why the staff is still recruiting Hollins so hard. I do not expect us to keep Mattingly, and it'll be interesting to see if we keep Anzalone, but there seems to be a fighting chance of that now.

agreed...idk if we lose mattingly or not, but that's exactly what i was thinking. he's a backup plan and kelly taking "personal interest" is just him doing his job and sending a vibe to the kid, especially while we're hot.

I just kind of want to see his thread hang around on the front page. Love his film and would love to add him to the Mob if Mattingly decides to part ways. He and Smith would be dynamic for us IMO!
