Will be interesting to see if he takes his coach on his other visits as well. Could bode well for us.

Does bode well for us. Junior day will hopefully lighten the mood around here.

If next weekend in South Bend is 70-80 degrees and clear skies like it is here I'll be a happy man.

Understand. I'm just speaking in general terms for the recruits overall coming that weekend. Nice weather, nice day, positive vibes.

We'll see. It's been and is going to be like that all week this week. It's seriously fantastic.

Don't think he makes it too far past junior day before "verbal" is next to his name.

Excited to get back to recruiting. His coach and mom will be with him on the visit this weekend. He describes his mom as a "hardcore Catholic" and says she is really excited for her first trip to Notre Dame. Also says she will help him make his decision and its important to have her on trips. Doesn't have any other visits planned now, but wants to visit Bama, Auburn, and Georgia.

Not sure if its been shared already but his top 7 is:

Notre Dame
Ohio State
Wisconsin
Georgia
Auburn
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

^^I could still see a possible commit regardless if he has other visits lined up or not. Here's to a great weekend.

All signs are pointing in the right direction. Hopefully he steps on campus and realizes that this is the best place for him, his family, and his future.

My wife had never been to ND and when she stepped on campus she felt very safe and secure. ND has that affect on many people and I hope Hunters mother will feel the same way.
I agree with going to mass. My daughter and I were able to walk through as the players were in back of the church having mass this year and she still talks about the chills she received as she walked through the church.
I guess I am trying to say I think his mother will like Notre Dame alot!

I'm soo excited that he's going to be there this weekend.....I would love to see him commit this weekend or shortly thereafter. I know he said he wants to visit the other schools, however, the fact he hasn't set up dates to visit makes me wonder if he'll not make it to those visits.

I hope he commits to you guys. Ohio State fans seem to think he is theirs, but they think that way about everybody.

Would love see Meyer get locked out of every top notch OL recruit. We've already kicked his *** for a few, wouldn't mind seeing you guys steal McGovern and Bivin from him, and for Pocic to go to Illinois.

LOL.

You guys already got Elmer out of Michigan and I am giving you McGovern and Bivin!

The guys over at 247 seem to think Pocic is favoring OSU. Can't say I'd be thrilled with him going to ND, but I'd much rather see him go to you than OSU.

I hear ya! We need more than 3 IMO. I wouldn't mind Cochran out of Cali as a replacement for Pocic.

Unless these drastically change, Pocic will not be Irish. (we need to get results on the field - major results - for that to happen)

Bivin would be a phenomenal addition to the class, and it would give us a great start to the O-line group, which we NEED to be excellent. But I'm not going to get ahead of myself for Bivin yet - hopefully we knock his socks off and he verbals this weekend...

Great to hear Hunter's mother will be in South Bend. Elmer and Hunter at OT would be ideal. Add Dorian Johnson as the most athletic guard in the country and you got one heck of a trio. I think 3 is enough, but with this talent in the mid west this year we should strike while the iron is hot and get a 4th.

I agree with you and know Pocic is a VERY long shot....but we would take him :) I hope we get Bivin visualizing running outta the tunnel in our gold helmet for the next 3-4 yrs. I want this kid a lot!

so if Pocic is a longshot for ND, what school are you guys hearing on your end that he favors? Please don't tell me OSU. :curse: I would love for him to go to any school but OSU.

I'm no expert but I think he is one of those types of kids that is interested in a lot of places and doesn't have a true "leader" right now.

As Lax said, he appears to be wide open and is taking his time with the process.

Bivin, Elmer, McGovern, and Johnson. That is the group. You don't need anyone else, couldn't take anyone else. Heistand would have all four drafted in five years.

I would be happy if we landed Johnson, also, ISD's writeup of McGovern sounded extremely positive, so, I hope we land him. Also like Latham, and really like Bivin and Pocic, but I'm not overly optimistic about Ethan.

Free: Bivin influenced by his family

"I only want to do this once. I want to pick a place and stay loyal and do it the right way. I don’t want to commit and decommit and do things that way."

Those that would rather a paraphrase about ND:

Notre Dame: “I’ve been a Notre Dame fan since I was a little kid. Everyone is aware of that. The campus is beautiful. Notre Dame and their history, their stadium, and everything in Northern Indiana is Notre Dame football. I grew up watching the movie Rudy and I like it a lot. Coach (Tony) Alford has been my recruiting guy and he’s a good guy and (offensive line) Coach (Harry) Hiestand, I haven’t got to meet him yet but I’ve talked to him and he coached David Diehl at Illinois, and David Diehl is my favorite player. And of course the education there. Coach Alford told me they have a 98 percent graduation rate and he told me you can do what you want with a degree from Notre Dame.”
