1) He isn't going to play in the NFC North (Even Dungy said he didnt think this could happen)
2) He isn't going to play under a coach that doesn't let him run the offense (say goodbye to Harbaugh and Shanahan).
3) He isn't going to play with a team that isn't ready to compete for championships (say goodbye to Miami and possibly the Seahawks).
That leaves:
- Kansas City
- Denver
- Arizona
- Tennessee
Who am I missing under this hypothesis?
1) Yep
2) I'm with ya
3) Wondering why you are so dismissive of Miami's chances to land Manning, and what would make any of the 4 teams you listed below as a better option?
Pulled a few stats from teamrankings.com
Miami was 6th in the league in scoring defense last year.
Kansas City 13th
Denver 26th
Arizona 16th
Tennessee 8th
Scoring Offense
Miami 20th
Kansas City 31st
Denver 25th
Arizona 24th
Tennessee 22nd
Edge Miami
All of teams listed had problems scoring, and with the exception of Tennesee a major factor was an awful TD% in the red zone. A healthy Peyton Manning would help any of the teams listed in that aspect of their game.
TD%
Miami 47%
Kansas City 33.3% (Holy ****)
Denver 44%
Arizona 51%
Tennessee 59%
With the exception of Tennessee there's is a ton of room for improvement...but of those teams Miami got to the red zone more times per game:
Miami 3.3
Kansas City 2.2
Denver 2.4
Arizona 2.8
Tennessee 2.3
Shear volume here suggests to me that many of the pieces are already in place. With a healthy Peyton Manning under center the Fins could be a very dangerous team.
See where I'm coming from?
