Don't hold your breath that a trial of a coach who hadn't been coaching at PSU for almost a decade and a half is going to hurt their recruiting----is what I think he was getting at.

This statement makes some sense......

Per II : "Academically, it came down to what kind of business school they had and how seriously each school takes academics," he said. "I looked at how I'd be used in the offense and their history of using the tight end and if they let the tight end be the playmaker. With the coaching staff, it's how well I get along with them and how stable the staff is."

Don't we still have some kind of chance with this guy? He verbals Friday.

I mean that pretty much describes Notre Dame. I don't think football players get into Wharton very easily

Whoa. I promised I wouldn't do this to myself anymore, and here I go. That sounds good for ND. How is Penn State's business school? And I know we have a great history of using the TE. What a haul this would be. Trying not to get too excited.

My little brother is doing business at PSU. I just texted him asking how good their business school is and he said "OK". Too lazy to look up rankings but suffice to say nothing special. I thought we had a 0% chance here and now im not so sure.

i know it's very un-likely, but this sounded good for ND...maybe i'm too optomistic.

BuckeyeGrove.com - Breneman near end of process

it sounded good at first but then not so much...like i said basically the psu qb coach said they addressed some big needs at TE AND QB already by gaining a verbal from a top tier qb and then the radio show host mentioned cedar cliff te...and he said he couldn't talk specifics but had already alluded they gained a commit from a TE

don't quote me but i think MD business school is pretty good. But they have nothing as a program. One thing he would do is come in and start right away. They have had around 12 players transfer out this year.

I'm going to stay level headed about this for now, IMO I figured we trailed PSU and the Suckeyes. If he does shock everyone and picks the Irish, I will be getting blitzed on some Jameson tomorrow.

Thanks for bringing me back to earth. I needed that. Even if ND's biz school is rated #1 by bloomberg business week (if that's prestigious, idk) and PSU's is only 25, it still sounds like the two schools are both at least good. He's headed to PSU.

The business school portion of the comment isn't what excites me. It's the comment about the quality of TEs and how they are used in the offense. Not getting my hopes up but I didn't have any hope before so this only helps

I think he's talking about how the specific coaches use the TEs, not how the school historically uses TEs. Basically, I think he's talking about Gronk and Aaron Hernandez. I believe, without a doubt, that he's picking PSU.

Haha OK after some perspective I'm sticking with my 0%.... maybe amending it to 0.1% to give us that 1 in a thousand.

i like you man! i just didn't want to see you go down that road....there is a support group that meets 3x's a week if in fact you want to get ur hopes up...

Nah, you were right the first time at 0%!

1 and 1a are PSU and OSU. It worries me that he is committing right after the OSU visit (of course, that could be read several different ways), b/c I can't stand that a-hole coach of theirs.

Bringing up the rear on this one, in 3rd place, is ND.

When PSU sucks this year (which they will - mark it down), and more Sandusky crap reigns down on them, their recruits will at the very least start listening to other schools. So we'll have to keep on Breneman if he doesn choose PSU...

Just remember that if he doesn't pick ND today it is not the end of the wold. There are alot of other very good tight ends that we are after.

I don't expect anyone to think it's the end of the world, since almost everyone thinks he is a PSU lock.

However, if he were to pick pOSU for some reason, this board would probably have a few choice words about Urban.

It is recruiting anything can happen.
