It's shocking to me, given his offer list, that this guy is only a 3 star on 247. Having said that, I don't care. Love getting receivers with that kind of size.

“@BGI_JasonSapp: Tampa-area recruits RT @BigCountyPreps1: Ryan Green, Jordan Sherit and Travis Johnson I can see heading to #ND with Ryan being the catalyst.”

“@BigCountyPreps1: All should be mid season commitments. Green likely to be the 1st. Sherit and Johnson COULD follow the others lead.”

Josh Newberg who covers that area says he believes Travis is best suited for TE at the next level. Doesn't have elite speed for a WR but has excellent hands and is continuing to grow. Up to 215 right now.

Maybe see him at that sort of hybrid SE position that Marlon Brown plays for Georgia? Brown was recruited as a big receiver but if I remember correctly him and Orson Charles often lined up as a SE/TE hybrid together a lot. Has some dangerous versatility, takes advantage of some mismatches.

Alshon Jeffrey anybody? One of the best wide recievers in the country but many have him targeted to the hybrid te/wr role in the NFL. Yes, he showed up at 215 at the combine but has yet to run his 40. Regardless, whether this kid projects to be a TE or a WR if he is big and strong with good hands they will find a way to get him the ball.

Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma recruiting him the hardest.

Mother has "fallen in love" with Miami. Wants to hitch a ride up with Green this summer to visit.
