Auburn this weekend, ND the next, LSU on March 17th. He is also very high on OSU and has a good relationship with Warriner because he was recruiting him at ND (odd though considering Warriner never offered him at ND).

Yeah this is what I don't understand. If I remember correctly, he was miffed about not being offered, right? So wouldn't he have more inclination to look more forward to what ND has to offer? I wonder if he'd follow Elmer's philosophy, that he loves ND for ND and not for some assistant coach that was there.

On a related note, man I hate Urban. Perfect timing for him to arrive with UM starting to make noise as well. And stealing our recruit and coaches.

We should all be praying that Michigan and Ohio State keep ruining each other's chances for better bowl games like they were from 1969-2001.

On the II podcast they said they could definitely see Bivin committing.

I think it is very possible when he visits, but I could also see he waiting. He is definitely enjoying visiting all these other schools.

As would I if I were an elite recruit. The key is to do it before you commit. I really hope we get him though soon... him and Elmer would be a great foundation for a good o line class, and it would create some recruiting momentum. Love ND fans wanting to come to ND.

Probably not a big factor, but Mom grew up in Tennessee and has been a Vol fan her whole life.

Hunter Bivin taking his time with decision | Jody Demling – Recruiting

Hunter Bivin taking his time with decision
Posted on February 13, 2012 by Jody Demling

Apollo junior offensive lineman Hunter Bivin is one of the hottest recruits in the country, landing more than a dozen BCS offers in two weeks.

But the 6-foot-6, 290-pound Bivin said the rush of offers is “kinda over my head right now,” but he’s not going to make any rash decisions on a college.

“I want to take my time,” he said. “It’s a blessing and it’s been amazing but I want to make sure I see all of my options before I make any decisions.

“I’ve been thinking about trying to get as many offers as I can and that way I won’t pass up any opportunity that might be out there for me.”

Bivin has landed offers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Indiana, Western Kentucky, Mississippi State, Michigan, Auburn, Mississippi and Texas A&M.

While he doesn’t have any favorites at the moment, Bivin said Notre Dame has long been his dream school and when he received that offer it was “really nice.”

“But I am trying to stay away from that right now, so (the offer) doesn’t take me by the seat of my pants,” he said. “I want to make the best decision for me.”

Bivin has already been to Junior Day at Ohio State and on Saturday made a visit to Vanderbilt for the basketball game against Kentucky.

He has trips soon planned for Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan, Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss and LSU. He plans on making it back to Ohio State for a spring practice.

“I just feel really blessed and fortunate,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun for me.”

People are getting awfully worked up about his visit, but I haven't seen anything that said we were clearly out in front or he was planning on committing this early. He has several more visits scheduled. However, I do think Matuska could commit very soon.

People are giving too much weight to and running with Wiltfong's comment that he might commit on the spot if he is blown away, IMO. I'm not really following recruiting right now with it being so early and also lacrosse season... but that is one quote I've seen. Honestly just seems like a bunch of conjecture, though.

To be clear I don't think he commits when he visits, but I do think we lead.

According to ISD, the most important thing in this visit is how he clicks with Hiestand. This will be his first time meeting him and if it all goes well he could commit at any time.

His first time meeting Hiestand? I thought Hiestand offered him when he was still at Tennessee? I guess you could do that without ever actually meeting...

His coach says something could happen this weekend. That is of course if his team gets eliminated from the basketball playoffs tomorrow.

EDIT: mistated that his brother was also his coach. Both will attend.

GITF is so fast, he makes fast people look... not fast.

FWIW his team is the underdog. Not saying I hope they lose, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if they did.
