This last 2 years we have been blessed by the strangest recruitments. I'm loving every minute of the journey. Whether we get guys or don't, I love the Irish. Win, Lose, or Tie, Irish til I die.

Just something to think about for next season's opponents...how do you like kicking off to GAIII/Neal?

So, without reading the last ten pages, which is where I left off a few hours ago, do we know what was actually going on when he pulled the no-show and then came back and picked ND? Any scoop at all on what the hold up was? Family feud or family emergency?

Add to the fact we have a PR for the next 3-4 years, a true slot receiver, and the perfect nickleback.

He could be a solid starter at CB but I place him as the nickleback because I think he will be playing all over the field.

Neal didn't show to announcement due to "family emergency".
Assembly was disassembled and 600 children, news outlet and school were disappointed.
Recalled for the assembly (no one except 15 people showed up.. not even the news outlet)
Chose Irish and stated he never wavered in his decision, still citing family emergency as to why he missed the announcement.
Plans on going to the school Friday to apologize to each classroom individually for missing his presser.

We've been talking about him playing both ways, is there a good example lately of an athlete of note doing this? (on a halfway consistent basis.)

How about Marecic from Standford. Oh yeah, I couldn't stand that guy. But he was pretty good.

Supposedly the "family emergency" happened at 2:30am, but not many people have mentioned much more of it. I still dont think this has anything to do a father-son feud that many reports have been clamoring about.

Just got home from work, and am damn glad too see we landed Neal.

I hope he ends up seeing significant time early and often, the kids got skills

I think this is the first recruit that committed to ND where ESPN has ranked them the highest of all of the recruiting sites.

"Kiel to Neal" will certainly provide Tom Hammond with some chuckles. But at the rate he's probably getting plastic surgeries, I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't move his face enough to laugh by 2013.

I agree. Time for baseball and March madness until the spring game...

Rest well from the recruiting side of things. It's time to kickback and enjoy the afterglow of a good finish after a couple of rough spots.
