“When coach Cooks first messaged me, he asked me if I had any interest in Notre Dame, and I was like that’s like asking me, ‘Do you have any interest in breathing?’”

He also said Washington leads but almost committed to Texas A&M last week but didn't like how they planned to use him in their defense.

Told ISD that he has watched ND on TV for years with his dad, who is a huge Notre Dame fan.

Almost committed to A&M but didn't bc of how they wanted to use him and now UW leads bc of Tosh.

We have ground to make up.

Can a mod add offer to the thread title? I would do it if I could figure it out.

Offered by BK himself tonight per 247.

I hope to hear A LOT more of this, this year. I have all the faith in the world in the rest of the staff, so don't take this as a slight against any of them, but I think Kelly needs to be a little more visible in the process with a lot of these kids earlier on. HC presence earlier in the process seems to hold some weight with these kids.

Agreed. I think this past recruiting season an article said that how the process went, BK was typically the last one to either give approval or talk to the kid if the whole staff was on board. Definitely seems like he is getting involved a heck of a lot sooner this cycle.

we should have offered tosh one of our open coaching slots over the offseason.

He didn't want to leave the West Coast. If he had, he would have left for Tennessee a few years ago when his buddy was the DC there. At least that's what an article said after he left for UW. The same buddy became DC over at UW which is why he left. I want to say Justin Wilcox.

If we would have made a better offer to him, I doubt he would have said no.

Back to Deon. Hope this kid goes Irish. He's from TX so I don't see UW really being much of an obstacle to overcome. It's the state schools, namely UT, that I'd be worried about.

Hollins A Special Talent, Person

Oklahoma has moved up high on his list. Keeps in touch with Tosh. Would have thought about committing to Texas but they never offered and with them landing Davis at LB, he might not get that offer.

From OSU 247 site:
“I grew up an Ohio State fan,” Hollins said. “That was an offer I was waiting for. I’ve thought about committing. "

I want to attend a spring practice and see how things are run. If my mom and dad like it there I could definitely commit.”

I like Ohio State a lot,” Hollins said. “Washington would be high, and Texas A&M. But I don’t have a clear favorite.”

No dice.

No, no, no. You forget that he was high on Washington, then about committed to A&M, got an offer from ND his dad was very excited about, says he can really see himself playing for OSU and could see himself committing to them, and then he commits to UCLA.

Looks like he was visiting UCLA. Got wowed and committed.

Placing a bet he commits to 3 schools by the time this recruitment ends hopefully ND is last but after what he has said about so many different schools his interest in ND seems not trustworthy

How could I forget haha

He's not only been high on so many schools they are all over the map also

Washington > Texas > Indiana > Ohio > California

Dads gonna have to spend a lot money on getting him around. Probably will waste a couple OV to schools he won't consider in the end

But him down for a GBdomer deccommitt. Kids all sorts of confused. Good for UCLA though. I would be the last person in the world who would complain about going to UCLA.

I will bet on a decommit as well.

Deon Hollins talks about his decision to commit to the #Bruins

Hollins said despite the commitment, he will continue to consider a few other schools to be certain of his decision.

"Really it's just the combination of the 3-4 defense they run and the coaching staff's NFL experience," Hollins said. "I have felt all along the 3-4 defense would always suit me best since I don't feel like I'm a traditional linebacker."
