I love Patron. This is a video I posted a while back. Skip forward to about the 4 minute mark.

You boys are late to the party. It's ok though, there is still some Natty Ice in the fridge.

Well it is a no-brainer to praise Davonte Neal's skills and potential. I don't know where he is going to commit but my feeling is that if Notre Dame is not his destination we were a close second. Anyway what I like about Neal beyond the obvious is the way he and his family have gone about this process without seeking media attention. That impresses me as the manner of a mature, stable young man. I like that he played his senior season before jumping into the recruiting process. I like that when he realized that it would take longer than NSD to make the right informed decision for himself, he let everyone know ahead of time. I like that the local school (Arizona) is one of his final four: that shows that his roots and family mean something to him. I like that he is considering NC largely b/c of his grandmother, how can you dislike a kid who loves his grandma? I like that Notre Dame holds an academic trump card with him. He will be a big success wherever he goes and I will celebrate if Notre Dame is the school that he chooses. I really feel this is a quality person and a program cannot have too many of those kinds of kids.

Here is a new angle.

Davonte is waiting until Feb. 21st to commit.

Theory: He is just waiting until that day because Lent starts the following day and many ND fans may be giving up following recruiting for lent. He is going to give us our own little Mardi Gras. Thanks Devonte.

May be old news but Wiltfong recently tweeted, Neal has made a decision but announcing the 21st #Notre Dame.....
Hope I'm not repeating but hope this is a positive nugget

Wow that fat dude in Mike's video is going to die. What an idiot.

Hope Neal goes Irish. Maybe we need some prayer pics.

Notre Dame football: Irish a finalist for 5-star recruit Neal - southbendtribune.com

"Neal’s father, Luke Neal, told the Arizona Republic that Notre Dame is the “darkhorse” because the school hasn’t committed to which side of the ball Davonte’ would play. Arkansas, UNC and Arizona have told Neal that he would play slot receiver and return kicks. ND, according to the paper, has so far committed to Neal returning kicks next fall.

“There is no confirmation yet what side of the ball,” Luke Neal told the paper Tuesday. “But he doesn’t care anyway. He understands most coaches are telling him what kids want to hear. He doesn’t care what side of the ball, as long as it’s 100 yards.”"

I thought we told him in the beginning we thought slot but he would get to pick where he started and we would go from there.

Here's a quote from Neal's fahja, via B&G:

"He used a different perspective dealing with it for himself. After the combination of research and our conversations about it, he understands how what it is to make a business decision on your future instead of just the next three years."

This statement seems to bode most-well for ND. However, we've seen a skewed logic in this circumstance prior.

I remain cautiously optimistic, with the main competition being UNC due to family. AZ is a clear possibility as well. Woo-pig-sooey has to be the "dark horse" if you will, due to not many mentions. That in itself could be the "curveball" or "poker face."

I now also think ND is the favorite. I would like to rescind my earlier UNC vote to ND.

Let's do this.
