Just falling further and further behind these boys, and Michigan, and Ohio State. I am at a loss for words with this effort by the coaches.

If you need someone to blame go ahead and blame the coaches. But I for one cannot see any problem with how our coaches went about the business of recruiting. It make one's head spin sometimes, but I think if we are going to follow BCS recruiting, we have to avoid being overly emotional...for the sake of our own sanity.

I am sure its a coincidence that they all stayed on through signing day...

Lane Kiffin now faced with three coaching vacancies, as WR coach Ted Gilmore is leaving for the Oakland Raiders

You never go to a school because of a coach. Not saying that's what Nelson did but this is why.

I was hoping your post was going to say something about Nelson looking to transfer. Cue sad trombone music. Kiffy Sucks.

Well, like we said about 30 pages back, that ship sailed long ago (despite what he said about his OV). Even came out yesterday on USC Rivals that their mod guessed he was a silent since probably about August-September (even as he visited ND). USC was/is his dream school, sanctions be damned.

Apparently will start out his career at RB per Scott Schrader. Also, posterized some kid in a bball game. Nasty dunk.

I'd provide links but the damn school's firewall, you can find it on youtube.

I try not to bump a thread when I don't have a question or a substantive contribution to make, but WOW. That dunk is unbelievable. Sick athleticism. So sorry he's playing for the other team.

I guess I do have a question: the vertical leap figure that I found for Agholor (after a quick Google search) was 29". Can that be right? I know he's got a running start and it's not a straight vertical, but I'd expect a guy who can dunk like that to have a higher vert than 29".

Can't we just go back to forgetting this guy exists?

lol, yes I'd like to. Only reason I ask about his vertical is that some people were saying in another thread that they were a little disappointed in Chris Brown's 33.5" vertical, considering his scorching 40 time. If Nelson's vertical was really measured at 29.5", and he can dunk like that, then I care a little less about Chris Brown's supposedly pedestrian vertical. I'll assume that both players suffered from inaccurate measurements or that the vertical jump is not actually a good measure of in-game leaping ability or anything except that we should have any questions about Chris Brown's explosiveness.

Yeah, that was a great catch. Kid is going to be great after Woods (prob this year) and Lee (next year) leave for the NFL.

And they have Farmer, the consensus #1 WR two years ago, floating between WR and RB. Weapons all around. Russell, Jackson and Co. are going to have their hands full.

Our D line better camp out in the Barkley's backfield or we are going to be in a shootout!

Agholor is leaving early. So we have that going for us... which is nice...

Nelson Agholor leaving USC to enter NFL draft - ESPN Los Angeles

Its amazing how much talent gets wasted as SC. With the possible exception of Floyd, ND hasnt had a talent like this at WR in ages. Same thing with Leonard Williams. Three years later, they go to the NFL without leaving any real mark on the college game.

Next year, it'll be the same with Sua Cravens. The year after, Adoree and Juju. What a waste.

I wanted him to sign Irish so badly that year. I wish him luck, he's either a first day or very early second day talent.

No no no my friend, you are overrating his worth. From afar he looked very good, but he was plagued by drops, fumbles, and he's not very big.

Not to say he can't be great, I'm just saying, every mock and every analyst has him as going in the 2nd round at the highest, most likely late 2nd-3rd round. He's like the 7th-10th best WR they say. Things could change with the combine and you could definitely turn out to be right, but right now his talent isn't deemed as high as most Irish fans think.

For reference in the Will Fuller #1 WR debate, Agholor had 219 more yards than fuller (1313 vs vs 1094,) and 3 fewer touchdowns (13 vs 15). Agholor had 104 receptions vs 76 for Fuller, but Fuller had 14.4 y/c vs Agholor's 12.6 y/c. Somewhat comparable prospects IMO.

I see Agholor a 2nd round talent. Could become a 1st rounder if a good combine overshadows a mixed resume (see Troy Niklas) or fall much like Marquis Lee, who had a more productive college career.
