Good Point. And every once in a while you would hear about their QB and all the records...what was his name? ;)

That's my point...

As a part of that conversation, I also had to be reminded... that's where Keenum played. To me they are so far off the radar that even when they have an exceptional year... it's secondary news.

Maybe it's just me... but those programs (TCU, Houston, Southern Miss) all just kinda meld together.

Or I could just be drunk.

Sounds conflicted.

F-ing Afghan Hound Drama Queen. He brought this sh!t on himself. Had he manned up and handled it as such, he wouldn't have to come in and defend himself on an account that he said he was going to delete last night. I said it once a few weeks ago and I'll say it again... This kid isn't happy unless the spotlight is shining brightly upon him 24/7. He's a f-ing Diva. Someone get this turd a Snickers...

And another thing... Now he's using his cousin as a bargaining chip in trying to get people to lay off? Go to hell, kid. Enjoy the teet of teet-xas.

Houston Cougars- All I can think of is Hakeem Olajuwan.
Imagine Tee and Deontay 10 years from now-Where did you play? Notre Dame-WOW!!- How about you Deontay?-Houston-Whats that? A JC or something??
Personally I smell an NCAA VIOLATION coming-remember this is a guy that could have went to USC, CAL, OREGON, UCLA, etc. All star on the All star circuit. Just never happens like this.

Either we have an NCAA VIOLATION coming or he had a severe case of Devaris Danielsitis or Chris Brownitis or Ferguson worry. Just my opinion-you watch.

Hey DG, your cousin most likely thinks you are a moron like a lot of us do!

Who wouldn't want to play for Houston? Phi Slamma Jamma with Hakeem the Dream and Clyde The Glide Drexler...they could be a real contender.

Wait...nevermind. It's not 1983 and DgBplays football. Dumb move.

Excellent. Who uses their cousin as a human shield from criticism? I wouldn't be shocked if Tee felt similar to some ND fans about his cousin's decision and his actions.

Having said all of that, I really wish ND fans would show more class and grace than most of the stuff that is being posted on that facebook page. There are a few decent regular posters on that page (I don't post there), but most of it is pretty embarrassing. It was a great idea by Tee in the beginning, but its safe to say it backfired.

It's always bad when commits and recruits interact with the fan base over social media. (IMO obviously). This is why I'm almost always against it when people want to talk to these kids or approach them. I know everyone isn't stupid, and nothing bad is guaranteed to happen, but the possibility of bad things FAR outweighs the most generous good. And when things do go wrong, (like they did today) things get out of hand really really fast.

Nix's response in that thread is exactly why I feel the way I do. I know it can't be helped, but I feel really bad that such an awesome kid who does things the right way is as cynical as he is about our fan base. Even if he's right, it's a shame the recruits and players have to face it.

I'm going to assume he'll hate Houston after being there for a year, and hopefully when he transfers, it's to ND.

There is no way I would accept a transfer by him after the way he handled this. Sometimes you only get one chance in life and he just lost that chance.

I said on Friday that I did not like him taking a visit to Houston no matter the reason and this is just what I was talking about. Anyone who really wanted to go to a school does not take a visit to another school the weekend before signing day.

Sounds like he was 98% ND unti lhe visited Houston. He felt like Houston was a better fit.

I've gone places where I didn't fit because by all accounts those were better places, yet they never quite fit.

With that said, I just don't get this. Personal relationships are fine and all, but Houston doesn't offer many things to an elite athlete. It simply doesn't make much sense. Academics aren't very good. Football will probably decline post-Sumlin. Not much football exposure either if he's focused mostly on NFL prospects nor is Houston known for sending guys to the league. All of this makes the decision shocking.

At the end of the day, it's his life. We just feel like we were engaged to a model who decided to marry her ugly friend who works as a flight attendant.

Well I slept quite well. Woke up with a thought and a suggestion..... Can we rename this Tee's Cousin-Houston Discussion? You know, for history's sake.

Y'all
Some of you get the part where ND grabbed a kid going to LSU that would have played sooner at a school that is winning more now. The Joe Montana that beat Houston is long gone. Houston is not back where it was in the day. Neither is ND, your new coach just threw a bunch of kids under the bus, at his old job. Get a grip, or not. This board has largly been like an SNL parady of crazy fans from back when SNL was really good. Look at the end of the season rankings, how good you were before he was born is no more important than how good Houston used to be. So lighten up. after a while people will get tired of laughing at this crazyness. Not tonight, but some day. This is crazier than Coog Fans and we are nuts. P.S. Penn State is laughing with you, the rest of the BIG10 & USC not so much;-)

I have nothing else to say but....

In recent years, UH has been ranked in the Top-25 a good majority of the time. I can't even remember the last time Notre Dame football was relevant. I'm sure Deontay had the same problem when considering why he was about to sign with such a dead program. Welcome to Houston DG!
