An FSU fan on Rivals claims Lynch delivered an ultimatum to FSU: No more DE recruits and guaranteed early playing time.

The collective IQ of that fan base might actually be lower than Bama's. If anything close to that happened I'm sure it went down like this:

AL: "You all told me you weren't recruiting any more DEs if I signed because I was your guy... but I've heard from other people and players at the all-star games that you're still pushing really hard for every available top rated DE. What gives?"

Then the FSU coaches lied some more and he realized his best chance at playing early (which is why he is an EE) is not going to be at a school like FSU which you can't trust to have your best interests at heart. For all intents and purposes they operate as bad as any slimy SEC school where if they can get someone better or you get hurt or something else happens they throw you out like trash.

All hypothetical with no evidence... but there is no way the FSU coaches walked into that room and he said out of the blue and just dropped that line. I'm sure they PROMISED him that to begin with and then could tell they weren't being honest when they did by the way they were recruiting all of these other top DEs hard.

I heard on rivals freebie board Weis is the lead recruiter for Lynch so this should be interesting.

Oh sweet jeebus. If there was one perfect guy that could sway Lynch it would be a dude like Charlie who can say "I've been there and (insert negative comment)." Who knows if he would do that though... I really wonder what he feels about ND and how his moral compass is. On one hand he is an alum and we gave him a great opportunity and a lot of money for his dream job. On the other hand, we fired him.

I'm not too concerned anymore. From what I hear people saying, if ND accepts him as an EE, then it is a done deal. If not, Florida and Miami enter the mix.

Everything happens for a reason, and the end result will be the right thing for Aaron and ND.

...brain just went somewhere in orbit around Pluto...Weis can't possibly be involved in this---weirdest thing I've heard since someone told me they'd seen Elvis at a gas station in Kalamazoo. Still, have to admit that this is addicting....

We'll know for sure if he's Irish in 7 days when classes start...maybe 5 if he commits on Friday night.

I saw this on another site regarding Weis:

Muschamp tried to work on Lynch and thought the kids heart was at Notre dame and not FSU so he told Weis to talk to the Lynch, they claimed Weis told him to follow his heart and if he wants to be at Notre Dame there is a nice support staff to help you through the academic side. It sounded like Weis didn't help Florida's cause all that much he just tried to help Lynch clear his mind. I don't know if any of it is true but it seemed interesting.

It's hard for me to believe that Chuck would change his colors just because he works for another school. If there were two recruiting truths to Chuck Weis they would certianly be:

1) The man loves Notre Dame

2) He will find a way to mess up his team's chances at landing any DE prospect.

At least he is conducting #2 at UF and not ND now.

Recruiting is dirty.

But Charlie Weis is a good man. May morals get the best of him.

I can't picture Charlie ever badmouthing his alma mater. But he's still a great salesmen, kids love him, and parents love him too

He has about a week to develop a relationship with Florida's staff. We have the edge there.

Talk about DE obviously Florida has more than FSU on their depth chart and isn't former ND commit Chris Martin a redshirt freshman there too? How do you think that conversation with Charlie and Chris will go?

he is hired to do a job, my guess is he is out there trying to bury ND. As he should be (while being an employee of FLA)

His job is not to bury Notre Dame and frankly, if he thinks that Aaron is leaning ND, it would be in his best interest to push him towards his ala mater rather than watch him go to FSU or Miami. Florida has both of them on their schedule. The last thing he wants to do is badmouth Notre Dame and instead of losing a DE recruit to a team he will never play, be the reason why Brantley is getting killed by Lynch when they play FSU/UM.

I would guess the total opposite. I don't think he is a negative recruiter and I think he is a pretty stand up individual. I think he is out there hard selling kids on what Florida has to offer and the potential of that team while also telling them they ultimately have to choose the best fit for them.

True and funny!!!

It's not in CW's interest to trash ND... he will loose credibility if he does that. It is however in his interest to get Lynch out of FLA!

That Floyd tweet is days old. I don't know if I would read too much into it.

I agree. I'm no Twitterbug myself, but I believe that I read somewhere that he tweeted something about "before winter conditioning" after that. He was, you know... making funnies...

She's calling some people cowards and that Aaron should not have to go through what he is going through right now. She's going off right now.

I guess a good comparison of the two fan bases would be how Domers reacted when he decommitted versus how Seminoles reacted. Although there was some pretty boorish bevavior on our part I bet we win that match-up. Keep in mind also that Lynch is probably more critical to our defense/recruiting than he was to FSU's.
