Are there no highlights of him playing RB? Thats what i see when watching, someone who should be tried at rb.

Measureables: Six-foot-three, 195-pounds
Other major offers: Boston College, Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin
Fun Fact: Finished second in the state of Virginia with a 100m dash of 10.9 seconds.
On choosing Notre Dame: ”I can’t wait to be around the great tradition and being part of a winning program,” Prosise told BlueandGold.com. “I’m ready to help bring the National Championship back to South Bend.”
What he’ll bring to the defense: Prosise is another under-the-radar recruit, but the more you dig in the more you like what you see. Looking for speed? He finished second in the state in the 100m dash. Looking for special teams ability? Prosise had five return touchdowns this season alone. Prosise had six interceptions during his senior season, where he was named Central Virginia’s defensive player of the year. He’s a tall and rangy athlete that at the very least could come in immediately and help in special teams. It’ll be interesting to see if Prosise is a good enough athlete to excel in coverage, which would make an athlete of his size even more valuable.

He is NOT 6'3" unless he just grew a bunch. 6'1.5" from what I've heard.

Quick question, looking at some of our recruits measurables and how accurate are the 40 times?? C.J. runs 4.71, a lil slow and Turner runs a 4.8...ouch! Any chance they move these guys to LB?

Look back 1 page. He finished 2nd in his state in the 100 meters running a 10.9. I don't think he runs a 4.71 40. Althought that would make him faster than quick and Mayock would be screwed.

where did u see these 40 times? Also keep in mind unless these kids run track, they dont know the proper technique to run a 40. Some of the pros at combines still have trouble after spending time and money working on it.

I personally dont understand why they dont time a 40 yard or w/e amount using the way they stand on a football field. WR standing, rbs squatting a lil then go left or right and explode, dline in 3 point stance.

The difference in a 4.4 and a 4.8 is a tremendous distance. I want to say between 5 and 10 yards, closer to 10 yards in a forty.

Now articulate that to a field length. We're talking 20 to thirty yards of distance. Blown away.

Also, you have to take into account the weather when these times were taken. I know it sounds silly, but it plays a huge role in times. I have seen my guys at track meets run up to .2 slower when it is cool (55 degrees or less), and the barometer is dropping. I have no scientific evidence other than I note weather conditions on my charts for each meet and when the weather is cool and baro. is dropping, all of my times are slower than warm days when the barometer is rising.

A side note; there are a ton of kids that run a "4.4" if you listen to their coaches, but when they are timed by someone else, its usually closer to a 4.6 or 4.7. I am sure that their are a lot of you guys on here that know this better than I, I am just putting my two cents in on it because I laugh when I hear forty times. When I watched the Semper Fi combine this year, most of the times were pretty slow. The announcers alluded to the fact that the temperatures were cool and a front was moving thru. So, if Prosise was timed in bad conditions, its a pretty good time, I think.

Turner allegedly ran a 4.5 40 for ND's coaches and, IIRC, his Shuttle time is sub-4.0. That's how he earned his offered.

Over the last two cycles, this staff has only brought in 3:s: players that at least have the athleticism to challenge the 4:s: and 5:s: guys.

Some of the forty times are old too; like from sophomore or junior year.

John Turner ran (more than one) 4.5 forty for the coaches.

Nick Baratti ran a laser timed 4.45 forty that has been widely viewed on this site.

CJ ran a 10.9 one hundred. How fast are the Atkinson brothers and Bennett Jackson? I know there is a much faster reputable forty time out there for CJ; I just haven't taken time to find it.

Maybe that 40 time is why ESPN neglected CJ's rating so badly . . .

I am trying to remember, but it seems that the difference between a 4.4 and a 4.5 forty for six foot runners was about two thirds of a stride, a yard, give or take.

More important is the method of timing. A starter’s pistol can cost 0.25 second. The difference between manual, manual start, electronic finish (NFL method), and laser timed (runner self-starts against laser at both ends) can be as much as 0.5 seconds.

For example, Nicky Baratti's 4.45 laser time (could but isn't) be as slow as a 4.95 forty. So all of these times are apples to bananas; saucy enough?

Now those numbers are much better!! I was just a little rattled when I saw the terrible ESPN #s, although if it was an F$U recruit Im sure they would have reported lower times...lol

I trust Kelly and crew are pretty good evaluaters of talent!

Also, it depends on how you use a stopwatch. Using the thumb is regarded as the wrong way to do it, as your thumb reaction time is slower. I promise I am not making this up. I heard a track coach speaking on this topic a couple of years ago. According to him, when timing the forty, if the coach uses his thumb to start the time, the reaction will be between .05 to .2 seconds slower to start because of the distance of the runner. (I wish I could think of this guys name!!) He says the time will be close at the finish, but still somewhat slower than if using the index finger.
