One thing stuck out. He said he had always seen ND on TV.

So important to keep that contract going, to continue to increase exposure where it isn't logical to exist.

If it were a bad 220#, he wouldn't be advertising it. This is a good thing. Still thinking FS at this weight or drop down to a DOG/CAT type deal like Slaughter last year?

That was my thought. With those measurables, he's more likely to see reps at Star OLB than CB or FS.

I agree... if he can, and he's better than the rest, play him at CB. But if this new found weight has formulated him into an OLB, we have a little depth concern there this year. It's reasons like this that I cannot wait until practices start!

220 is not a deal breaker for a cb. The Seahawks DB s are huge. As long as he is runnin 4.5's keep him at cb.

Hopefully lots. Hybrid defenders seem to be the best way to handle modern spread offenses.

Yup. With hybrid players, you can defend teams like Stanford who put 3 skilled TE's on the field at the same time as well as Oregon who plays the speed game. If we just get prototypical players, it limits the types of defenses the team can run. I like Kelly's 'big skill' players and hope they keep rolling in.

He's walking around at 220lbs now. I'm sure he's working out but nothing like what he's going to be doing when fall practice beings... He could very easily lose 5-10lbs. just with practice...

Harrison also 6'2" played 215-220lbs range

Adrian Wilson S Arz. Cardinals 6'3" 230lbs and is a stud

Depending on how the Prosise grows i think ideally standing at 6'2" they'd like to keep him at the 215-220 lbs. range all they have to do is get it solid and keep it for game day weight...

I figured that he would be our future FS, Shumate would be our SS, and Baratti the hybrid type.

Haha, that is probably exactly right.

Thinking it is weight is not that crazy though. I remember reading around the time of the spring game that he had been gaining some bulk because of weight room work and the staff, when they saw him, actually told him to tone it down a bit because they didn't want him to gain too much weight and lose speed. No idea where I read that though; won't be able to find the link now.

Why do you all think this is his weight? So you all think he gained 30 lbs in a year?

Maybe 220 is how much he can bench now...considering his max bench a year ago was 205...just saying guys

^

When an athlete says they're now in the "[some large number] Club", it's usually a reference to their new single rep max for a major compound lift.

^ agree with whiskey and Sherm here. At my college we had "clubs", 300 Club, 400 Club.... I would say he is talking about his bench.

His bench max being 220 is rather low though.

There are many possibilities for what it is; weight, bench, front squat, incline, close grip etc.

I seriously doubt its bench... Never heard of anyone benching 220, seeing as two 45s on each side of the bar equals 225. 220 club is 42.5 pounds on each side, which would require more work to put on the bar than actuallly lift it haha (25, 10, 5, 2.5 on each side). Just seems unlikely
