Seems like a good kid from his tweets. Needs to change that picture though.

Probably Gunner throwing, Amir running routes, and Josh covering him. Either that or they just threw a ball around.

im just glad to see guys getting together and bonding....good to see for team chemistry and also i wondered how the gunner attention would be w/ others..this is great news and understanding this an all year gig not just turn it on when the season is here as in the past

A nice scene... everything about it... SO great to get such great young guys on campus. You deserve a lot of winning, young men, although you're already winners off the field.

Can't wait to see this young man in action. Hoping he takes this year and gets healthy, and faster!

Question - can transfers that have to sit out a year, participate in all team activities (except games of course)?

Amir, Badger and Prestwood being added to the mix is huge. That is a 3 and 4 star added to last years class and one 4 star to this years class basically. That is exciting when you think about it like we do with the current recruitment! I can't wait! I think Amir and Badger will do big things for us.

Carlisle is a stud. Of our current RBs, only Cierre was rated better coming out of high school. He's the most likely to take over for Cierre as the #1 RB in 2013 and beyond.

I know Amir can practice, but will he be able to play in the Blue and Gold game?

I assume he can, since its technically a practice.. I want to see what this kid can do.

Yes, he's considered "red-shirt" and they can play in the game.... ie. Golson last year...

Cierre is technically eligible for the 2013 season. I know many think he will bolt early--is that just a personality-vibe thing, or does he actually project well to the next level?

EDIT: Read it as Amir, not Cierre. My apologies.

As for Cierre, I think it's more about the type of year a lot of people hope to see him have. If he progresses from this year to next the way he did from last year to this year, he COULD be considered NFL ready.

I think he's talking about Cierre Wood.

Wood lacks the top-end speed to do very well in the NFL, in my opinion, and his strengths certainly are not in between the tackles.

He is going to have a great 2012 campaign, but he isn't NFL caliber yet.

we shall see this year w/ out Jonas...his production dropped off, looked timid hitting the holes once again...i hope for the best..

I feel like this is partially due to the fact that without Jonas, Cierre was being treated like a workhorse.

I feel like fatigue and bumps/bruises caught up to him. Here's to hoping we can get nice productivity from whoever plays second team at RB.

imo cierre will need an outstanding year to consider going pro after this year.

I know this is Amire's thread but to be honest Cierre was the first 1,000 yard back in five seasons at ND ran hard and caught the ball out the backfield well. As the year wore on Jonas took more of the Load. But Cierre is a real good running back and I think he is explosive and a playmaker. I will take his experience and explosiveness over any hype or buzz of a new recruit transfer. I also think he could be drafted next year as well. (Though I will say I was real excited last year when we recruiting Carlisle and I am excited to have him now

True, but I could see it happening if he gets stronger. Remember how Armando Allen transitioned from a merely elusive runner to a guy who could really finish off a run and get yards after contact? If Cierre works out hard enough (as I recall, Armando said his secret was running stairs) I could see him similarly taking his game to the next level. If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if both Riddick (who graduates) and Wood are gone in 2013. Then it will Carlisle's time to shine.
