To the poster that said Tommy isn't a bad QB, here is some info for you:

TOMMY IS A BAD QB AGAINST GOOD TEAMS! ACTUALLY VERY BAD!!!!!!

Record against good teams this season 1-4.

And just to put it in perspective, was so bad against Stanford got yanked at half.

Secondly, he almost single handedly lost the Florida State Game. 2 Ints interceptions int he End Zone, How many points did we lose by??? 4!!!!!

6 TDs and 13 Turnovers against Good Defenses!!!!!!

Averages under 199 Yards per game passing against good defenses. Aren't we running the spread offense?

Had 1 300 yard passing game against a good defense, 4 games under 200 yards during that streach of good defenses.

And his one win against a good team, he had 2 turnovers and 1 TD. And passed for a whopping 161 yards. The defense held the Spartans to 13 points and GAII ran a kickoff back for a TD.


Against lower level or mediocre teams he is good, but if we play a team that has a good defense he is horrible. He is a turnover machine, blows throws, and can't get away from a rush to save his life.

Nice kid, but not a good QB at all. If we line-up agains the service academies and Wake's or whatever he will be fine. But, is that what we want?

Bad QB against good teams period! And he regressed, didn't get better. In his second year and 2 bowl games. Enough is enough! Got worse, just look at his last two games. He absolutely sucked. Absolutely sucked!!!!

Go Irish, Everett/Andrew/Gunner are the only choices. Never let Tommy take another snap!

I can do that, I am just sick of hearing that Tommy Turnover and his experience is best for ND. It makes me sick, and then watching the Bowl game again a week ago, Tommy really sucks out there. right now he is almost indefensable as a starter IMO.

Just can't handle good defenses. Time to move on, and let it die. But, seeing it just makes me sick. I sure hope BK isn't dumb enough to roll out Tommy Turnover again.

I was flabbergasted when i started reading this. I thought HCTI had seduced Megan Rees with his flowing locks and magically aged the child until he could use the internets. Then i assumed it was a scUM fan, though this subterfuge far exceeds scUM fan capabilities. This makes more sense. Though he was pretty much mocking the hell out of you guys. I didn't sift through any pages beyond the first two, so I apologize if this has been said before.

While I agree with the consensus that he shouldn't be the starting QB to lead us forward, he did the best that he could with the tools that he has.

As far as I'm concerned, you are a poor sap of an ND fan if you sling mud at this kid beyond criticizing his play.

It's pathetic hearing/reading "ND fans" call him Tommy Turnover and other such names.

To this particular "fan", I say:

Tommy Rees has dedicated his college years as a student athlete at the University of Notre Dame. As far as I'm concerned, he's family.

Dayne was coming off 2 years of knee surgerys. He was the Brandon Roy of College Football. Jimmy broke nearly every record set by our next guy Brady Quinn. Quinn took ND to 2 BCS bowls. ND's never had a problem at QB in the Weis days, it was defense and running the ball and the line.

He has limited to no mobility. Can't make many throws past 25 yards physically and his decision making is shoddy at best. Oh and he showed absolutely no signs of progress throughout this year in terms of his reads.
