CB is a technique driven type of a position, speed can "hide" some of short coming on technique however, as the competition gets more elite a person is exposed. Saying that I would love to have the speed first because technique can be taught, speed cannot.

Poole > Darby

Heresy!

I think they are both ELITE prospects that are immediate impact guys. That being said, we already have an ELITE cover corner with great physicality in Tee. So if I had to choose either Darby or Poole, I personally would rather have Darby because of his speed and versatility.

I'm in this camp, but I would be just as excited about Poole.

Update last night on II. Alford and Diaco stopped by to visit. Best visit yet. A lot hinges if Urbie snags Poole's DB coach from Mus-chump.

I hope he doesn't. If he decommitts for anywheres It needs to be ND!!

you're misunderstanding what he's saying. If the florida db coach goes to ohio state, its a virtual lock that poole becomes irish. He is not and wouldn't consider ohio state.

Not a virtual lock, but some people think that Poole likes ND enough that they could overcome UF if his position coach/recruiter moves to OSU. No one is saying that he would be interested in OSU.

Praying for Urbie to snag Poole's coach, then. I'm one of those that would prefer Poole to Darby if we could only get one (I'd love to have both), based mostly on the rave reviews he got in his all-american game performance. A lock-down cover corner is a priceless commodity, and although it's great that we have Tee you really need two at all times. I'm not too sure whether any of the guys we currently have fits the bill. Darby's special teams potential is great but we have other great athletes that I think can make an impact there (Carlisle in 2013? Russell?). I personally don't get why Bennett Jackson didn't get more PR opportunities, being such a solid KR his first year.

Watch this be the one time this off-season that Meyer doesn't get what he wants.

Jackson has the speed for KR, but not the necessary shiftiness for PR.

I would like to see Cam get the punt returning job.

Poole fits our system better than Darby.

For boundary CB, yes. But for field CB, Darby is a much better fit. Right now we already have a BCB in Tee and need a FCB.

Several posters discussed this a week or so ago. The FCB will be playing more in space and will have the field S playing over top of him, in basic situations. The FCB needs to be able to close gaps and recover quickly. He doesn't need to be the best press corner or cover corner. That is the BCB who won't have as much safety help over top.

However I'm sure we'd gladly take Poole. Otherwise we wouldn't still be recruiting him.

Speculation on 247 that FSU could become a player as well if he decommits from Florida. That is unless, of course, FSU has already secured a commitment from one Ronald Darby.

And round and round it goes...

Anyone know when Tracy Howard's decision is?

posted this on Howard's thread, but thought I'd post it here too since it might affect Poole.

Howard has cancelled his official to LSU and stated that LSU coaches haven't really been in contact with him much. So he might already be down to Florida and USC with Florida most likely in the lead.

Asked before, but has Poole visited ND? Would seem that would be a good first step, no?

I thought it was illegal to provide jerseys to recruits? Maybe I'm off here.

They're in the locker room so they might have just thrown them on for a pic or something. I heard ND had a jersey for Keil in the locker room for display.
