I do think Armond might be a little pushy...
1. He is big brother
2. He will be a NFL pick if he has a decent season
3. He wants to go where he'll play. Auburn has 4 sophmores starting across the D line. 2 stud DEs that seem to be firmly implanted. I don't know enough about our D compared to theirs, but perhaps he sees more PT at ND. We have two studs too, but he'd likely step right into the two deep as a 1B.

honestly, just from the insiders on our board, it's actually a bit of the opposite. Armond wants to head to Auburn, but Arik prefers notre dame. Obviously, take this with a grain of salt, maybe Armond only feels this way because he's not cleared by ND, but that's what I'm hearing right now.

If only he can truly pass. We wont add the kid if there is something that could happen to him, only to garner Arik's pledge, too. Auburn? I think they would. Hell, Florida took on Dan Wenger.

maybe. Personally I still believe that they won't be a package deal and that they'll be going to separate schools. I think Armond prefers Auburn over ND and Arik would rather play at ND instead of auburn. In the end I think they don't end up at the same school.

I can't imagine they'd let Armond's situation be detrimental to what it is Arik wants to do with the next 4 years of his life. You'd think they'd defer to Arik's wishes, even if it meant they didn't get to play one year at the same school.

You're the only person I've heard say it this way.

Well I think everyone needs to understand that while their parents do want them to play together, Armond is an adult already and he really has his own future to think about. Arik does too, but Armond has a smaller time frame in which to make his decision. If Armond picks ND and they don't clear him, he's pretty much done for as far as football goes. Arik still has 4-5 years to figure out whether the school he goes to is right for him.

I think Armond knows what many of us suspect and that is that Auburn will be more lax and will probably clear him to play. And I think that's all Armond really wants, is a chance to play one last year of football in order to get to the NFL.

Arik on the other hand, I feel is getting caught up a bit too much in playing with his brother and that is why he may tag along to Auburn with him, even though It's probably not in his best interest.

It is in deed a mystery. Credible sources say however that during routine physical examination, USC doctors found what they describe as a moral compass. Since USC doctors have never found one of these in a USC player or coach, the coaching staff decided to quarintine Armond for fear the condition might be contagious. The USC medical staff later tried to treat the condition, but the procedures did not take, and caused substantial side effects. ND doctors, after examination confirmed the condition. They also considered it a mystery that a former USC player could have such a condition, and have ordered more tests.

Nice jab but with a significant nit.

Lest we forget, refresh me, from where Amir Carlisle just transferred?

Conspiracy theorist suggest Amir was a plant that BK sent to USC, only to return the next year with the playbook and insight on how to flip of few recruits <smile>

I'm sure the ND doctors would say he was merely lost. He woke up in December and realized Kiffie Cakes may have put something in his drink. He got out while there was still time.

I feel like we've made a trade, Amir Carlisle and possibly Armond Armstead for Pat Haden. I think Notre Dame got the better end of the deal.

I literally just read the last 10 pages in succession because I was busy all day (gasp) and the summary of the last 10 pages is...

No one knows anything and there is no factually supported reason to infer that nd is better or worse off with arik since he postponed. We may have been number two behind cal then, and still may be. We might have been number one ahead of auburn then and still might be.

But to put things into perspective, It's not like his alternative is a school on our schedule the next four years. Would love to have the brothers because they can take this class from great to historic but they don't play a position of dire need so it's not the end of the world that they wont enroll early if they come here or if the don't come at all. NSD will be here soon. Let the staff work their magic. Get excited about the players we have so far if you aren't already while we wait for more concrete news about waivers and clearances and coaching moves. No point in assuming anything just yet or whining about never getting the best players.

Not trying to be that guy that's saying who cares if they come or not, because I do care and I'm still optimistic. FYI

I like the Carlisle for Haden trade. Is it too late to get Hammond thrown in as the "announcer to be named later"?

My opinion, just my humble opinion, we know zero except that they are waiting on clearance and waivers. May also be waiting on Cal hires... I'm not sure who favors who, just have a strong suspicion that the rents favor ND. Going to say a few prayers and hit the pillow.

I love this statement! Like 40 years long...

I'll be busy trying to figure out what's best for me (long term)," Arik said.

Ok so more info I've heard

It looks like Armond is not going to be cleared by either Notre Dame's medical staff or ND's lawyers (pretty much the same situation he had going on here at USC). So I doubt Armond ends up at ND, but Arik might.
