On ESPNU today they were talking about his commitment which changed to the QB competition next year. I forget his name but anyways the guy said He thought Golson would win out. He compared him to A less fast Mike Vick coming out of HS except that Everett is pass first as opposed to run first. While Everett certainly has great arm strength I don't think it nearly as good as Vicks. Coming out of HS Vick ran like a 4.35 or something ridiculous like that while Everett runs closer to a 4.6.

NFL comparison: Donavon McNabb of around 05 where he wasn't as much run oriented as he was coming out of college.

College Comparison: Andrew Luck

I think Luck is the perfect comparison to Kiel. Both are tall, can pass first, but can run.

Go watch some high school tape of Vick. Golson's arm strength and accuracy on the long ball is at least as good, if not better.

Agree Whiskeyjack. Vick could/can fly but Golson is more accurate and arm strength is close enough.

I think most if not all Eagles fans would agree with me saying that Mike Vice has the strongest arm in the NFL today, maybe ever. Countless times I've seen him flick it 50 yards off his back foot no problem. Golson Accuracy downfield certainly appears to be better than Vicks in HS.

I'm trying to compare apples to apples here. I agree that Vick's got a cannon now, but that wasn't necessarily true in high school. Go take a look at some of his high school tape on Youtube and let me know if his arm strength blows you away.

Golson, on the other hand, has incredible arm strength for a high school kid. His highlight reel includes several 50+ yard bombs.

It's possible, but unlikely. Kiel probably red-shirts 2012 and then competes with Goldrix (whoever won the starting job in 2012) in 2013.

No, I hope its the other way around. From what I've read on here Golson is ready to go and should be the starter next fall. This would be a great opportunity to put Keil in as a change of pace kinda like Tebow and Leak from a few years back.

Golson knows the system and Keil has the ability to contribute immediately so why not let him play if he can. This get me giddy just thinking about BK running HIS offense the way it was intended to be run with Golson at the helm with a little Keil thrown in to spice things up.
