Kiel has been focused on the depth chart (allegedly) from the jump. We've all assumed this for quite some time. Let's not act like just because Kiel is Irish now that he never looked at the depth chart.

Rivals doing new top 100 today, how far does Kiel fall? They r 1 of the sites you guys say hates ND right?

Every site hates ND according to ND fans. We act like anytime a recruit falls in the rankings, it's because he is Irish. And when they move up in the rankings, the scouts 'get it'. LOL. ND fans forget how many of our guys get bumped after they receive ND offers or commit to ND. Opposing fans all think ND players get bumped (remember Heggie suddenly getting 3 stars???). My guess is that the truth lies somewhere in the middle...

Just out of curiousity, I have kept digging at all the places that mention Mom as the reason Gunner switched and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM references the ONE Rivals guy and or the original article from Louisiana that originally quoted him.

THERE IS SIMPLY NO OTHER SOURCE OR CONFIRMATION OF THIS POINT.

We here at ND realize that Momma's are important to us (we play for Our Lady) and I feel bad that Aleta Kiel is getting it worse from people than evan Momma Lynch got from the FSU "fans".

So...can we now safely assume that we have seen the last of Tommy Rees? I love Tommy as a kid and a competitor, but the program can't begin to focus on loftier goals until we have moved on with respect to the QB position. I'd love to see Golson win this job this year, let Kiel redshirt, then let those two guys battle it out in the spring of 2013. If they are both ready in 2013 then its a win-win proposition in my eyes.

I don't. I think you're wrong. I think discussing the ramifications of Kiel entering the QB picture is entirely in bounds. I don't really even get the argument to the contrary. The depth chart isn't off topic in a recruit's thread. Especially in light of the fact that my post followed at least a page worth of debate about who Colin Cowherd roots for and how big of a douche he is. Further, there has been discussion of the depth chart as a factor in Kiel's decision, which was discussed a couple pages back.
