makes you wonder why Cal didn't dish out some extra cash to this guy Tosh to make him stay.. I know it was a bump of somewhere near $350K in salary, but from the looks of it, he was worth all of it.. odd/sucks to hear ND isn't in it with Payton though

True. I believe Tedford makes $2+ million, though it almost seems Lupoi is more important to the future of the program. Maybe the boss should have cut him a check?

As for Payton, yeah, it seemed like we were in his final 3 or 4, but not on the board now? Odd. Unless K Russell somehow bumped him?

I heard a couple months ago that ND was without question his no.1 school by far but that distance is a major factor.

Would dearly love to see Payton come to ND. If not us, then UCLA would be OK I guess. But I'm greedy and want him in South Bend.

ND was #1 in the eyes of Jordan's brother in the fall, who talked openly about what a good fit he thought ND would be for Jordan. I don't think Jordan ever labeled ND as his frontrunner.

Personally would prefer Treggs if one of the Cal WR commits is going to flip.

Just a heads up, a guy in chat on IrishIllustrated said the feeling in his neck of the woods (near where Payton lives) is Payton is NDs silent commit. TIFWIW.

Not sure if I've ever seen the guy before. Said he was from Cali and that was the word. Not sure if the info was legit but we all know how much smoke there has been about a possible commitment on the horizon. After the article I read tonight from the Florida Rivals site I'm not sold on Poole coming to ND. Couple that with the fact that we're out with Darby, Garnett, Armstead and it's not looking good for Kallon, Neal or Agholor. This probably makes about as much sense as the rest of them....
