I call B.S. on anyone claiming that there's a better corner this year than Tee Shepard. When the evaluators at an all-star game say that you NEVER got beaten, NEVER sounds like "perfect" to me.
Tee Shepard has the potential to be one of the most significant Notre Dame defensive recruits in recent memory [yes, Te'o and Lynch are in there; big Lou Nix, too]. The reason is that he has the potential to create the already speculated-upon "Shepard Island". That sort of voiding out of part of the opponents' Offense is game-changing before the teams even take the field. The enemy OC says "That's a guy who deserves a good leavin' alone". Diaco says, "blitzes just became a he!l of a lot easier, and I can double team the other side of the field". That's what "Revis Island" did for the Jets.
Sure I know that it's a lot to imagine for a young man who hasn't played yet, but EVERYBODY's gob-smacked at how Tee covers. This is not a completely fantastic scenario. If Ronald BLUUURRRRRRRR comes along to hold down the other side of the field, well, wow ---- Lynch, Tuitt, Williams, et al running wild with nobody open; nightmares for the opponent OC.
For those on the board who refuse to acknowledge such possibilities, well, that is a bit sad.
