Who is Harrell, and who is he pitching for?
Over on Rivals, I'm seeing Erik Campbell's name thrown around more frequently, and not just by Irish fans. Iowa fans are chiming in.
...
Campbell earned his bachelor of general studies degree from Michigan in 1988.
He was born January 21, 1966. He is single.
CAMPBELL's COACHING CAREER:
Iowa WRs, 2010-present
Iowa WRs, TEs, 2008-09
Michigan Assistant head coach, 2003-07
Michigan WRs, 1995-07
Syracuse RBs, 1994
Ball State RBs, 1991-93
Navy RBs, 1989-90
Michigan SC, 1988
Whether you agree with it or not, doesn't that long post he quoted from another board sound like something Glenn Beck would come up with if he wrote about football?
I find this topic somewhat humorous as it relates to "solid" and experienced hires-especially with all the rants.
I seem to recall Tenuta was a sure thing....
So can some really smart person clarify what positions are vacant? DB and Oline?
WR, RB, and QB may change depending where Booker lands.
According to this SB Tribune Article, "Booker will likely end up coaching on the defensive side of the ball."
We'll see.
O-line and RB are vacant. The defense needs another coach, possibly LB or DB.
WR, RB, and QB may change depending where Booker lands.
The path of least resistance is Martin to QB, Booker to WR, and Alford to RB, but I guess Booker could end up helping Diaco with the LBs and they could hire two new offensive coaches.
Any talk of Alford ending up recruiting coordinator? Or is that not a job you want your best recruiter doing?
this article states that cooks will take the full load at DB and booker will stay on the offensive side of the ball.
says he could still help with DB's on "at times" seems strange. i guess you'll need good GA's to pull this off.
Cooks to take over entire secondary
Cooks’ increased role likely means that newly-promoted assistant Scott Booker will remain on the offensive side of the ball. Booker coached defensive backs at previous stops at Western Kentucky and Kent State before serving two years as an offensive coaching intern with the Irish. The source said there is a chance that Booker will also help out with the defensive backs at times.
Don't think you put you're least experienced coach on your most vulnerable position.

Hell no.
Joe Wickline has his name floating around. Currently OL Coach & Run Game Coordinator at Oklahoma State. Good recruiting base as well.
Tom Lemming called Notre Dame's coaching staff "below average when it comes to recruiting nationally" in the SBT.
Good thing Tom Lemming has "below average [relevance] when it comes to recruiting."
