For anybody without access to the live stream, when he was ready to pick up a hat the lights went out and they played the ND fight song over the speakers in the gym.

It was also great to hear him talk about life after football....looks like a solid pick up for ND on and off the field.

That's awesome! I can't wait to watch this again later with some audio!

Did you have the video on mute? The gym went black as soon as he was about to make a decision, then the ND fight song started playing. It was brilliant and very well executed.

Never thought I'd think that the way a kid does a hat ceremony can show he is an ND type of guy, but there you have it. Compare this with Huggins last year or any of the countless others we've seen of kids going to different schools. He was engaging, funny, quick-witted, well-spoken, theatrical. That's the hat ceremony of a 3.8 gpa student-stud RB bound for ND.

I just reviewed ESPN, and he had the fastest 20 yard shuttle out of all runningbacks (3.80). Also, his forty time is listed at 4.55 at ESPN. Good compliment to Mahone.

very true, savon huggins' fiasco last year still irks me! Russell had some fun and didnt disrespect any of the other colleges that offered him.
