I absolutely loved watching Rocket on the field. But, man...............listen, listen, listen..........when did he turn into such a drama queen?

There's nothing wrong with being critical of the team, when they aren't playing well. And they sure as hell haven't been playing well (consistently, anyway) for a few years now. But I, too, get tired of hearing about how the sky is falling.

I feel like we have no chance tomorrow. You are all alone on Revis Island.

PS: We have a chance if the Rocket will suit up.

i agree their are people who will cheer the loudest and have the most belief when ND wins, but once things get rough, people start to act like they could tell it was coming, and ND will never be anything. They will say they "know the game" and give all these reason why ND will not succeed yet, they are on a computer saying it.

Everyone can act like a leader that knows every aspect of everything, and criticize actual coaches, but then their is a reason someone is a D I head coach, and a person on a computer is nothing more than a person on the computer trying to say why ND fails.

i will be an ND fan rain or shine, I use to criticize ND badly and get upset at everything. But i realize that their is nothing more that i can do but cheer this team on, that is my job as a fan. That is to cheer, nothing more, I can't call plays tomorrow so why criticize.

ND will always be my team, and i will support whomever is on the field, until they are demoted or fired.

Go Irish!!!

did App St. really have a chance against Mich, did James Madison really have a chance against VT? But they won.

ND is not a D II school, but they have more than a chance tomorrow, if you look at Utah's schedule its not like they were undefeated through the SEC, or beat top notch schools, they beat PITT which ND beat. Or if you really want to defend Utah you can throw in Air Force and Iowa St. but really come on now.

Maybe i am optimistic but it's not like i am delusional.

But I, too, get tired of hearing about how the sky is falling.

Curious. At what point does it finally occur that the sky fell? After the first loss? the second? the third? the fourth (a blowout against Navy), the fifth (a loss to TULANE)? The loss of Rudolph, Allen, Riddick, Williams, Crist, Dever, Wenger, Floyd injury, Calabrese injury? Loss of verbal commits? (Not that I care about those flakes).

What does "sky falling" mean? This is not to say things can't improve, but let me tell you gentlemen, the sky fell. This season is an unsalvageable atrocity. Anyone who says otherwise is on drugs.

Being a stand up guy and also a proud subway alum I will raise my hand to being an unbeliever. I will not back off my feeling that this beloved program cannot do it under the present standards. If you want to file me under 'bandwagon guy' so be it. I've pulled for this football team for 45 years so its not a point of who do you love. Its a point of they cant compete in todays college football enviroment under the present policies. So I raise my hand when role is called. Thats right I dont believe. You cant ask the type of players that are here today to bring you the excellance on the field that you want. I hurt for this program like an alum-maybe even more. For many people around the country who did not graduate from Notre Dame this program represented football 'Camelot'. I now look at the things thru unexpecting eyes. James Madison or App St may very well be better than this team.

The sky doesn't fall on one or two games, or even one season. The sky falls over the course of multiple seasons. When you can't see ANY signs for hope anymore, then the sky has indeed fallen. I haven't given up hope yet. And anyone who watches College Football, not just ND or whomever their favorite team is, knows that programs can come back from mediocrity, even if that mediocrity lasts for years. Just ask USC fans. USC was a very mediocre program, for most of the 80s and 90s.

choo choo: Keep hope alive!! I never believe that we don't have a chance.

It's not disbelief, it's looking objectively at the situation. I don't have to give the coach/player/distinguished alumni speak every time I talk about Notre Dame. I'll be watching tomorrow and cheering, but I think we have a 9% chance of victory based on my calculations.* In short, I'm expecting a loss, but I'll still be yelling at them when the **** up.

im pretty interested in seeing just how this team plays after an off week to prepare...im not really sold on bk (hope im wrong), but this may go a long way in swaying my thinking...i know hes had to deal with alot of injuries to key players, but i kinda relate that to cw's 3-9 season when we had to pay for ty-gone's recruiting and golf game...its hard to win without the horses...i know the best teams i ever coached had good athletes and everyone told me how great a job i did, but when my teams didnt have many good athletes i wasnt nearly as good a coach...haha...still i feel like this team is gonna rebound somehow, someway...i need another beer - or not

I am not on drugs. Ending the season on a couple of wins, with a bowl appearance, would be a "saved" season. From Matt James to Declan Sullivan, with all of the injuries in between was nothing short of horrendous; but ND is learning a new system, and some very talented new guys are moving in . . .

I do think we have a chance. He have to take advantage of our opportunities. Just like every other team. We need aour defense to play descent. But we need our offense to play good. We need the O-line to step up and fight their a$$es off. Throw a couple different looks at them to keep them off gaurd.

why cant nd win?

what has Utah done that is so impressive? was it beating Pitt by 3 points or beating Air Force by 5 points? maybe it was losing to TCU by only 40 points. yeah, they ripped some teams, but nobody of note.

I'm not sure what you are getting at, here? Of course I read stuff other than my own words. If you disagree with something that I said, why not express that disagreement with logic to back up your views, rather than resort to ad hominem attacks because you can't find any fault with the logic I used?

Unbelief already came in and slept with my dog years ago. He's got a cot in the garage.

But we make him listen to the game on the radio. No Unbelief near my tv.

Again. You are reading only your own words. I expressed my disagreement with logic to back up my views in a previous post. But I guess you didn't read it. You were simply waiting for your turn to talk. Apparently.

With about 5 minutes left in today's game, Hammond also mentioned the loss to "Tulane." That was too funny. I said "unsalvageable" atrocity. I made no mention of "utter" or cow teats. And what do my testicles have to do with the fact that ND has lost a lot this year?

Anyway, today's game was fantastic. The ending, when the students joined the team on the field, really brought tears to my eyes.

Smackdown by all three teams - great d, special teams and opportunistic offense. Good game planning.
