I'm a little surprised. It will be interesting to see how things shake out.

It was publicly reported that he was suspended from AU's bowl game two weeks ago.

But nothing of substance since then in the Birmingham News, Montgomery Advertiser, AL.com just lots of "I heard" posts on tigerdroppings.com, hogville.com, and other message boards.

Academically Dyer carried a 3.45 GPA in HS and had offers from ND and Stanford.

Do you remember if we were a finalist? It'd be great if we came back into consideration.

Wonder if they are just speculating on his attitude and academics, or if it's legit

it was kind of funny because one of the ark board members said...u know he must have some issues if bobby petrino doesn't want u on the team...this was in response to i guess the reason he didn't commit to ark was because petrino didn't show him enough attention when he came for a visit...tifwiw...they are saying how they avoided a huge cancer of a player

Maybe he's unhappy that OC Gus Malzahn (sp?) is leaving.

according to what i read...he wasn't happy w/ what his wife said about him at a church that got back

ok...here is the factual info from what happened.
Dr. Ronnie Floyd, a pastor, interviewed Kristi Malzhan on Oct. 6 in front of a Christian group in Arkansas. She made several controversial statements about ESPN football analyst and college coaching legend Lou Holtz, former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, Auburn sophomore running back Michael Dyer, and Auburn players who she says “aren’t the most intelligent people out there.”

John M. Phillips, a sports agent who runs The Breakthrough Sports Agency, originally uploaded the video on YouTube on Nov. 25. In fact, several copies of the video were uploaded on YouTube, but they’ve been removed over the past several days. Gone. Vanished. Eliminated. Hmmm.

Fortunately, we’ve transcribed Kristi Malzahn’s most controversial statements in the original video for your reading enjoyment:

•On working with Auburn players. “It goes to a place of questioning his integrity and his character and his intelligence because a group of 18 to 22 year olds did not perform on the field like they should have. And if you’ve worked with 18 to 22 year old individuals, most of the time they’re not the most intelligent people that are out there anyway. We’re the nuts because we’re willing to base our whole entire lives on what they decide to do for the day.”
•On Auburn RB Michael Dyer: “He has a little bit of an attitude. He carries himself with a little confidence that we have to kick around every now and then. But he’s a great kid.”
•On former Auburn QB Cam Newton: “He is cute. Pretty boy. I love him, but don’t tell Gus.”
•On meeting with Lou Holtz: “We got to go to Lou’s house. Gus was way impressed. I kept saying, ‘He has a lisp or something. There’s something going on with his mouth. I can’t really understand what he’s saying. And Gus, was like, ‘Shut up!’”

A woman that speaks outta turn and can't keep her mouth shut....Go figure.

Sheesh. Gus has some house cleaning to do.

The Kristi Molzhan video was posted here like a month ago. If Dyer is transferring, that is news. The rest of this stuff being discussed here isn't.

Nothing like showing some good old fashioned Christianity by insulting a man who had you and your husband to his house. That's all she could say? He has a lisp?

Guess that's how southern Christians operate, though. They are, indeed, a different breed from other Christians.

Wow... think about that... he could be one more year and done there... now he has to potentially sit for a year??

idk, with all the talk of grades, attitude and whatever else, it must have been huge because, well... obviously... this is pretty drastic given HIS current circumstance
