Who knows how this will play out, but on buckeyeplanet the Hinton thread was started by an apparent "guy who knows stuff" type on 11/27. So this isn't exactly a new rumor. In fact, the last post in that thread is an update on 12/12 that says apparently Hinton is staying put at ND. So it seems like an odd time for an OSU fan to come here trolling about an old rumor that was shut down by the person who started it a few days ago. Maybe osudave knows something nobody else does, but most likely he is a lonely, creepy Buckeye fan with nothing else to do. And it can't get much worse than that.

His team lost 52-0 in the state championship against Wood. Wood has about 5 D-1 talents so it's not surprising. Also said that Urban Meyer was there.

First, Schutt went to PSU because ND and UM didn't want him. Then the crap there turned him into the open arms of UM. Really, any coach with a pulse at a major midwestern college could have had him if they wanted.

Next, pulling a DE from Canton Ohio, where anyone that OSU wants they get, isn't a shock either. If the Vest was there, he would have never been committed to MSU.

Spence is a catch, but again, the two programs that seemed like they were going to be major players in his recruitment played themselves out, Maryland and PSU. Yes, getting Spence is a HUGE get for them, but let's not go overboard here. UM is a good recruiter, but his early success has been significantly aided by circumstance.

I think it's more the initial wow factor he's able to bring. But, I do also think he'll get better classes than JT ever did.. It really doesn't bother me all that much as long as their not poaching NDs top guys year after year. I'm actually excited to read all the whining excuses on scUM boards for the next decade..

It's only going to get worse when tOSU wins 9 or 10 games this year and ESPN starts hyping the ever living sh!t out of Urban and what an exceptional coach he is..
