Bow Chica wow wow

“@GregBiggins: In regards to Armstead, hearing from different sources that #NotreDame is doing pretty well with him”

Let me translate, if Biggins says "pretty well" that means "really well." He is a huge west coast homer.

hahahahahaha that gif is AWESOME!

Like I said many posts back, I would bet if he had to pull the trigger right now it would be ND. Going to be a lot of in-home visits here over the next week or so... some other schools might try to start working the bball angle and things may change... but I think he knows he could get immediate minutes at ND playing for the Coach of the Year in basketball.

On the football side of things, he's also a perfect fit at 3-4 DE and could play that position to the fullest in basketball shape. I wouldn't be surprised if his recruitment wraps up in the next 10 days and hand-to-God I think ND is going to pull this one out.

I love the tenacity of our staff. There work over the past week is nothing less than remarkable.

No doubt. I just love that they never take no for an answer. Shaq eliminated us like a month ago right? We're still in constant contact. Things like that win over recruits. It's just like advertising, the more exposure you can have, the better off you'll be.

Possibly Brey's best recruiting job yet?

He got 5 star center Torin Francis in 2002 but he never lived up to expectations. Arik is probably a high 3:s: low 4:s: BBall prospect which is around Breys average.

I was implying that he may be helping us get Arik on the gridiron.

In that case ... YES. I wonder if he wanted to go to Cali or Kelly ordered him to go or face his wrath.

I don't think Brey wants to face this.

Sadly, I think SC is still in it, or at least they've been trying to be. Perhaps NDinLA could shine some more light on the situation there.

Since my last update on him, there has been nothing but crickets about him over on The Peristyle. Like I said last time, I don't think they are a player for him anymore, regardless of their dominating finish. His family feels USC's medical staff did his brother wrong...

What exactly happened to his brother?

USC is still very much in it. They had an in home visit and Arik and his dad took an unofficial there a few weeks ago. The situation is basically that if he finds a place that he is more comfortable at then he will go there, otherwise he will probably still play at USC. Cal is also very much in it and he talks highly of Tosh Lupoi. He is also going for an OV to Texas. He has interest in ND but I still do not think he will end up in South Bend when it is all said and done.

Seems like "a few weeks ago" is a long stretch at this point in the recruiting cycle.

Even if you meant "a few" as 3 weeks.... That's almost a month ago

I would think the combination of education/football/basketball/playing time at Notre Dame would be a tough combination to beat would it not? It would seem Notre Dame offers him the most of what he is looking for from college including the chance to play USC once a year if the rumors of bad blood with the family still holds true.

This kid is a class changer and it sounds like Notre Dame is going all out with the coaching staff and Brey which is great. Notre Dame looks to be a tough dog in this fight to beat.
