Diaco visiting today.

OSU has yet to contact Ifeadi since Urban took over. Looks like it is ND vs Stanford with Northwestern in the mix as well.

Diaco: "Ifeadi, you're going to Notre Dame."

Ifeadi: "Okay."

I just summed up the whole visit in advance.

Would be nice.

I said weeks ago that I thought Ifeadi would end up at Ohio State especially if they landed Meyer. i would love to be wrong.

If anyone leads its northwestern. Really enjoyed visit and got to meet and hang out with more guys than at ND or Stanford. Cal is out.

Also, hadn't been in contact with Ohio State since Meyer was hired. If he takes another visit it would be there but he isn't sure if that will happen.

I think we would all rather see him at Northwestern than Stanford.

We play Northwestern in 2014 and 2015 and who knows where Stanford will be after Luck graduates. Having said that, I agree, but that's because I'm partial to NU

Just saw this while scrolling through ESPN..

12/31Odenigbo sets a date to announce his decision
Centerville (Ohio) High School four-star defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo is ready to make his decision. But instead of announcing while at the Under Armour All-America Game, Odenigbo will announce at his house on Jan. 7.
"I wanted to be able to make the decision with my friends and family around me, so that's why I'm going to do it when I'm back home," Odenigbo said.

"My final schools are Stanford, Northwestern and Notre Dame. Academics are definitely important to me, as you can tell by the schools on my list. I truly think this is a win-win situation for me. I can't go wrong with any of the schools on my list."

Odenigbo admitted he has one school in his head now that stands out, but he wouldn't reveal what that school is.

"I don't want to say something and give people the wrong impression," Odenigbo said. "I could get out here and think about things in a new light and change my mind, but I do know right now where I would pick if I was announcing."

Odenigbo said his family would like him to stay closer to home because they "can't drive to California" but also said Stanford definitely is a factor in his decision.

"I have to do what's best for me," Odenigbo said. "I can see myself happy at each one of these school."

This will be an interesting one. He's been relatively quiet. There was a poster earlier in the year (last year, I guess!) who said that he was saying we led, but then everyone sorta though Stanford led, but then like in the article, his family wants him close to home.

I think we offer him the most and are the closest, no?

I'd certainly be ecstatic to get this guy.

Btw, good job on posting this IrishFrog. 7 posts and you've done a very good job so far!

Hasn't been much buzz around Ifeadi as of late. If you want to look on the positive side, we haven't really been going after any other OLBs. In the cases where we haven't felt good about landing a player, we've generally moved on to someone else at their position.

I didn't think we had a chance with him.

So, January 7th we could have Shumate, Wright, and Ifeadi?

Northwestern has been his leader since his last visit. That's not new news so I'm not sure why some are saying Stanford leads.

Could change but if he had to pick today I would say it would be northwestern.

IrishFrog the early frontrunner for newcomer of the year? Or I guess his technical enrollment date of December '11 may exclude him from a nomination?

I wonder how "desperate" the staff is to get Ifeadi, or any LB for that matter, seeing that the only committed "LB" thus far seems like he may outgrow the position by the time he'd be assigned to it.

Yes!!! As we watch the announcements with a single tear of joy running down the side of our collective cheeks.
