I found this gem when I was on hiatus and forgot to post it but just gives you a little insight as to what goes on:

"I sat next to the linebackers coach from Northwetern - Randy Bates on a plane from Chicago to Dayton yesterday. Interesting insite he was coming to a home visit to Ifeadi from Centerville and said Brian Kelly was there yesterday. Great guy very nice he said he hopes the acedemic talk Iffy's parents preach really pulls through. Although interesting that he is most worried about URban Meyer not Stanford or Noterdame. Said it's easy to recruit against Brian Kelly all you do is show them a clip of Kelly yelling at the players and most parents would never let their kid play for him. Anyway I thought it was interesting. I didn;t believe who he was at first so I googe his picture and it was. He didn't like that OSU basically has two coaching staffs one to recruit and one to Coach - I kind of do like it!

Every coaches yell. Kelly is just a little more red than the others. Must be the Irish blood.

I can't believe people still talk about that.

F'in ESPN overplaying it is what did it.

Watch almost any other coach and you will see them yell.

I guess you have never seen Saban coach. He makes Kelly look like a saint.

No need to bring up Saban. You are taking his argument too literally. The real argument is coach loses 5 games, everything coach does is bad.

Saban, on the other hand, lost 1game. Everything Saban does is good (except for that one day).

The neat thing about coaching is, it does not matter whether you are starting Tommy Rees or your kicker misses 4 field goals, when you lose it's because you were stupid.

Exactly.

As former Michigan State coach George Perles once said, "When you lose, everything you do is wrong [according to fans]. When you win, you can stick your finger up your a** and walk backwards and people say, 'That's the way it should be done.'"

Forget how Coach Kelly disciplines/yells...loved the way Holtz disciplined by grabbing a players helmet.
I hope Coach Kelly keeps on this kid, sounds like a level-headed kid. I thought I read in his profile that he didn't like OSU's academics??

Kid was pretty impressive vs Stanford at the weekend. He's definitely filled out his frame from when he was a HS player.

I totally forgot about this kid until his name popped up in an ESPN article: Fueled by Kanye West, Northwestern's Ifeadi Odenigbo living up to hype - Big Ten Blog- ESPN

Beginning with an Oct. 1 win over Iowa, in which he broke a single-game school record with four sacks, Odenigbo has become the most dominant pass-rusher in the Big Ten. He has seven sacks in his past four games and now is tied for third in the FBS in that category.

Would've been nice to have that pass rush on ND's DL (eventhough he's had a pretty mediocre career up until this passed season).

You got to think that Romeo would be having quite the year if he had a 5th. But hey, we're going to waste Julian's RS as well.

Pretty crazy how little impact he had in 5 years at Northwestern, really did nothing until his RS senior year and then ended up being a 7th round pick. He was like the highest rated player Northwestern ever signed and he wasn't even a full time starter until his 5th year. Him and Noor Davis are two guys who shockingly did not meet expectations at all.

And I wanted both so badly. I remember thinking both would be at least 2 year starters. They looked so fluid with big frames.
