I know its extremely early in our recruitment of Marcus, but I like the position we are in. He is friends with two of our top commits and he reached out to our staff.

Hope to see Marcus in the blue n gold.

Hypothetically,

If Rios were to be offered, and EE, then we'd have him AND Tee as EE's?

that would hopefully alieviate some of our DB concerns for next year.

If his 40 time is a legit 4.6 or better it's fine. Lo Wood ran a 4.58 coming out of hs and he is playing decent in his first year of significant playing time.

Could decide as early as next week per rivals. Really liked his ASU visit.

You think Arizona State is done with Dennis Erickson yet? I think will all the expectations this season, he's probably on his way out. They can't even make it to the Pac-12 championship over UCLA. I'd say he's on his way out.

Recruiting Week In Review

Though it’s rather late in the recruiting process to be evaluating players, that’s exactly what Notre Dame is doing with Marcus Rios. Rios, CB, 6-0, 170, Cosumnes Oaks High School, Elk Grove, CA recently decommitted from Boise State and has since reached out to the Irish coaching staff. Rios has clocked a 4.43 in the forty, a 10.7 hundred meters and a 22.2 two hundred meters. This blazing speed has earned him an impressive list of scholarship offers including from UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon State, Utah, Washington and many others. Now, he hopes that the Irish will step up to the plate as well.

“They have shown interest by returning my calls and saying they are interested in my junior film and would like to get my senior year tape and talk at that point about visits,” said Rios.

His recruiter is Mike Denbrock and Rios’ father Richard recently spoke to the Notre Dame assistant.

“Coach called back and said he was interested and the DB coach liked his film and wanted to have some senior tape,” said Richard Rios.

Rios’ late interest and desire to enroll early could pose some major logistical problems with Notre Dame. However, both Rios and his father believe those obstacles can be overcome.

“(Denbrock) said things will move pretty fast if all is good with his tape, but they seem pretty happy about it now and pretty interested,” said Richard. “It’s going to happen. We’re going to get it all squeezed in one way or the other because we put a lot of work into graduating in December and we plan on being on somebody’s field this January.”

Rios’ interest in Notre Dame is genuine and for the right reasons.

“There are two things that he’s sure he wants in college, great education and great football,” said Richard. “There’s no doubt that Notre Dame presents both of those.”

I like this kid. I'm all about continuing to add pieces to the secondary, then letting the pieces fall where they may.

Ran a 4.43? Wasn't everybody's only concern his speed? Well if that's not a problem anymore, I think we can all agree to offer away!

Once again? What's his relationship with the Huskers?

He likes the coaches a lot! obviously he isn't going to tell prior to officially announcing but

Tell him he should really take one out to ND. It's never regrettable.

it isn't that! it's been too little too late on ND's part...kinda slow playing and its a now or never since he is graduating now in less than 2 weeks ...i will report back when he answers me back about visiting ND...he is trying to get his tape done before his 6am flight

PAND, if he's as high on ND as you say (and I don't doubt you at all) then I would imagine he won't commit to Nebraska on the spot. He'll at least wait a few days until he hears back from ND. Doesn't mean he wouldn't eventually commit elsewhere though.
