Past Irish teams would have folded and lost the game. This seasons Irish especially the defense played tough, and that makes me proud of them.

This is an overly general statement. The 2008, 2009 teams played hard and pulled out their share of close games.

really wish it couldve been a blow out to give some seniors more playing time, and more momentum going into the Stanford game next week.

I missed a lot of the game. What did I miss? What did Kelly do?

Loomis did not like Kelly's play-calling. It was a weird 4 quarters..

The defense played really well with a solid pass rush and got lucky with some inaccuracies by Rettig. The offense came out flat, unable to run and stifled in the passing game b/c of a perfectly organized and executed game-plan by BC.

Jonas seriously injured his knee in the second half, which seemed to deflate the team for a while.

BC was literally rushing with 2 lineman and giving Tommy all day to throw while knowing he wouldn't run... Consequently, Tommy threw 3 almost picks and 1 INT.. He "managed" the offense to a certain degree but didn't lead this team very well... Ugly win, but a win nonetheless.

Ok. Based on what I saw I can understand why someone might question some of the play calls, but it seems like saying "F U" about it is a little strong. Play calling is more art than science. It's hard to be perfect all the time. He would have had to have given the student section the finger in order to justify the "F U."

Very accurate and complete description. Kudos to the defense, which the ND offense kept under pressure much of the game. The offense was disappointing. Painful to see Gray hurt like that. Only thing I'd amend is that I thought the team was deflated from that point on. The defense gutted through to a win, but I thought the team was distracted by that and never really got the mo back. It sure beats losing, but disappointing, I'm afraid.

Horray!!!

We are awesome!!!!

8-3 = improvement

Go Irish! Beat the Tree

Errr... 8-3 with 2 games left, 1 of which is definitely a loss (and a blow out). 8-5 is not an improvement.

A win is a win.

But if we play like this next week, we are going to get taken behind the woodshed.

Its a forgone conclusion anyway.

I might be in the minority, but I am very happy with this win. Here's why

2. BC, while 3-7, they have played tough these last couple weeks against FSU and Vatech. Theyre a good defensive team.

Getting tired of these hooks. The ACC is worse than the Big10 this year, and by a long margin. We should be mudhole stomping these teams.

Second question of the presser, "Coach Kelly can you comment on Tommy?"

Kelly, "12-2 as a starter. Pretty good for a starter!"

HCTI, do you write Kelly's copy?

That is what you say when you have no other positive things to say. To say that Trent Dilfer is a Superbowl winning quarterback, might be true. The fact is the Ravens defense won that championship.

Yea, little over-board.. Coaches look like good play callers when they have beasts executing them correctly..

"Blue Chips": "Heck, I'll go over to the Indiana locker room right now and I'll give Bobby Knight my playbook. I'll give him our game plan and tell him exactly what we're going to do and we're still going to win! Because it's not not what we're gonna do but how we're going to do it!"

The only thing that came good out of this game was a win. It was the worse win of the season and shouldn't be proud that we barley beat a terrible team by 2 points on senior day.

its a win...I guess we can claim the ACC crown...maybe we should join after all...

This game was EXACLTY what I was afraid of...except they won. They let a lesser team hang around...not good. They didn't fold...good.

So I'm thinking we are not looking good for Stanford...

BUT THEN AGAIN...

given the injuries and adversity last year, and then a let down against Tulsa...what did the team do thereafter?

Given its November, and what does Kelly do in November?

...I've not been a cool aid drinker since So. FL...been less than impressed with this team...but looking at who this team has been, and how they respond 180 degrees from how I'd expect...I'm thinking there is a good chance we punch Stanford in the mouth...Go figure.

In 11 games we have played this year. WE have 3 yards.

honestly one of the most pathetic stats I've ever seen.. not to mention we don't go after punt blocks while we concede to fair catch every time.. if we're going to fair catch and never try for a return, why not rush the punter?

Because we'd probably rough the punter and get penalized.

Game reminded me a lot of the Wake Forest game. Just awkward

BC had a great defensive plan, really highlighted Rees' shortcomings and forced us to play to those weaknesses. BC played better than a 3-7 team. I'll take the win.

Lot of work to do before Saturday. Those three TE sets are going to be a tough for us.

Really going to miss Gray, he manned up this year, very proud of him as a player and a person.
