If not ND, I'm glad he chose Mizzou (and NOT scUM)! I hope that he does well (as long as they are not playing ND in a bowl game that is).

Michigan is set at quarterback for the next 6 years. Robinson through 2012, Devin Gardner through 2014, Shane Morris after that.

Like I told you before, "this is my nightmare" is a quote from a movie (I Love You, Man) that I guess some people didn't get. I really don't see how it is any more offensive than "thank god". I also dont see why it matters that I said it when he was high on us, instead of when we cooled on him. Saying it only after he goes elsewhere is sour grapes. I think it takes more cojenes to make a statement when you mean it, not when its popular.

I counted 7 comments saying pretty much what I have been saying all along. I dont really care, just think that its bizarre that my "outlandish", "childish", "classless", etc comments are know totally ok because he is going to Mizzou.

I do agree that we should all wish him well. Mizzou is a really good fit for him and am sure that he will have a very good career (especially if they landed DGB).

I used to say that line to my wife all the time (jokingly of course); I don't remember you explaining it that way (must've got lost in the 1000 posts we've had on this damn topic.) And like I said, i wasn't down with those comments from today either.

Oh well, at least that's over with...

I'm just glad we have moved on to more important debates, like Alvati v. Bolin v. Browne.

I personally think this suck as I have never really agreed with the board on him... but yeah, at least we don't play Mizzou... he should light it up there eventually... I wouldn't be suprised if we all revisit this is a few years from the standpoint of, "wow... we didn't want this kid!?!?"

just my two cents...

good luck to him.

I, for one, hate this. It's nothing but bad for KU football.

p.s. I'm back.

p.s. Got time off for good behavior, huh?

All the news this year hasn' been bad for KU. Huskers went Big 10 and Mizzu won't be kicking extra points anymore.

Rock Chalk.....I hope he stinks it up at least once a year....sadly, I fear he won't....Things aren't looking good for the Hawks in the new 10 member "Big 12".

I know he has no chance to come to ND but this is a heck of a throw.

Slight possibility of my former HS playing against Mauk next week in the playoffs. Would definitely go check him out.

Man nice throw! The bad thing is that I was thinking could Tommy even get the ball down the field that far, or even close to that far? Floyd had to come back/slow down on a 35 yarder let along a 55+. Man, Mizzu has a good one coming.

i've had a chance to see him the last few weeks in the playoffs...he's gotten extremely better over last year and is an even better athlete than i thought before. runs physical and is elusive. making better decisions this year with the ball. gunner may be better, but this kid would have been a great fit for our spread...not as good of an athlete as golson, but he already throws the ball better than he and tommy. offense may be a circus, but it's fun to watch

He played against my alma mater, Genoa Comets, this past weekend. They won 32-22. Maty had over 200 yds passing and 200 yds rushing. The rushing is what did it in. Maty stated that it was the toughest D he has ever faced. He threw some deep balls up for grabs that luckily his receivers out jumped and caught it. But his elusiveness and legs are what won the game for them. Dual-threat advantage. Man I really wanted Genoa to take him down!!!

thought genoa played them very tough...if someone's gonna take them down it's gonna have to be someone with that type of offense. vicars had a good plan, but they just couldn't hold onto the ball long enough to stop them. you can't stop kenton for four quarters eventually you're going to have to score. nice year for genoa again though, you guys have an impressive program and your new weightroom is incredible.

in regards to mauk again though, his improvement has come without the same caliber of skill players he had last year, but he's one of those guys that makes everyone around him better and they all know that they better be ready for the ball every play cuz it might be coming their way.

I'm pissed Eastwood got beat by Bishop Hartley, would have liked to see that matchup for the regional title. Eastwood/Genoa this year was best HS game I've ever seen in person.

The Genoa Comets are a Division 4 Team. In Ohio, there are three larger divisions than this. If Matty Mauk has been building up his statistics against Division 4 competition all year, then he has a long way to go to prove he can transfer any of that to the D1 level in college.

I'm not saying he can't, but at the Division 4 level in Ohio high school football quality DB's and DE's are rare. The best athletes are playing the skill positions at this level, and if a good athlete is playing DB or DE at a Division 4 high school level in Ohio he is most likely a two-way player, not a D1 prospect.

Every team he competes against at the D1 level will field DB's far superior to the majority of DB's Mauk has been seeing on the field throughout his high school career.
