Name two teams that you didn't think would be as good or as bad as they are this year.

The two teams that have surprised me have been:

Wake Forest

And I could pick about 3 or 4 Big East teams, but I'll go with

Mississippi State

Kansas State is much better than anyone could have thought

totally agree with Mississippi State, when they lost that game to Auburn inside the one yard line, the wind went out

It's clearly Kansas State for one...

I'd think Florida State would be getting more votes but maybe you all felt they were as overrated as I did. That team was so average last year, didn't get much better talent wise and then replaced a top NFL draft pick at QB. Why on earth would they shoot up in the rankings?

I'll go out on a limb and say Boston College at 1-6 shocks me. I thought they'd be a very average to bad team.... but 1-6 with no wins over FBS teams? And trending towards possibly a 1-11 or 2-10 season (if they pull off a win over NC State)? That's crazy.

Clemson/Kansas State

Notre Dame/Florida State

I also didn't think OSU would have been in the top three of the BCS halfway through the season.

I thought Stanford would take a step back.

Kansas State is probably the biggest surprise, and us. I expected us to have at least 2-3 losses this season, but not by the end of October.

I was thinking the same thing.

LSU (didn't think they would be undefeated at this point)

New Mexico (didn't think they would be winless at this point)

Clemson and Kansas St. (and urgh, Auburn)

Mississippi St and Florida St. Before the season started there were all kinds of talk about how Mississippi St. was going to give the SEC problems, and they fell flat. They still have the chance to play spoiler to some of the bigger dogs there, but they'll just be remembered as that, a spoiler, not a contender. I don't know anything about Florida St. other than their preseason ranking, but yeah they definitely failed to live up to that expectation.
