T'is true. Obviously the Irish have taken a lot of Scottish culture with them. But outside of the Irish Guard I don't think you see very much plaid anywhere on campus.

Duncan Hall is the Highlanders and their colors are blue and green tartan.

Plaid is not only Scottish-its Irish also. I'm half Irish and they wear plaid and wore plaid in battle in past centuries. Me thinks its plaid and maybe green/navy. If the head man says its something never done before it must be really over the top. Kelly is really a smart guy and if they pull off a big win this will be a real kick forward for this program. They are starting to get the players and this will only make it more attractive to these guys to consider Notre Dame. I cant wait to see what comes out of that tunnel. Go get it fellows beat southern cal!!!!!

But a Highlander is...a Scottish warrior. Like I said, the Irish took a lot of cultural things that are more identifiable with the Scots.

I think plaid socks would work, but anything else----eh.

I'm clan Duncan, from Scotland, and the ND tartan isn't Scottish or Irish, its American, and doesn't match anything from either country. Would be surprised if they're wearing tartan to be wearing anything but the ND tartan, which is what the Irish Guard wears.

Also, we might be building this up a tad, don't want to be disappointed if they come out in the Navy. It would still be gameday against USC.

24.9% they wear blue.

0.1% they wear plaid, pink, black or head-to-toe gold.

I revert back to my original "inside info" post. I think it will be a gold jersey, no idea about pants or helmet. Also to back up my position, the Notre Dame Athletics Facebook page is having 'golden giveaways' this week. Foreshadowing the uniforms?? I will let you guys decide, but I think so. I am not a fan of this by the way, I want a glow-in-the-dark uni. I may not even be able to see what the jerseys look like by 7 on Saturday night.
