Put a little spin on our traditional blue and golds.
NDdomer2...can you do this with all blue unis and then use either green or gold or a combo of them for trim/numbers?

Put a little spin on our traditional blue and golds.
Seeing that it’s the bye week and we have nothing better to do than speculate about what the team is wearing and what ND might do to increase the stadium atmosphere I came up with this scenario…
*Many of you will probably hate on this because it “isn’t ND” or some other glum reason but just let your imagine run wild for a second…
The Fans/Students: The word gets out that the game will be a “green out.” All fans wear their green (even though “the shirt” is blue) and the place is a sea of green except for a few small sections of ketchup and mustard. The ND student section coordinates with the University to somehow create “ND” in their section. Each fan entering the stadium that day will get one of those small LED keychain lights for…
The Entrance: Black that @*#& out! Turn out the lights! (I know it’s dangerous/lawsuits/ushers..) The team will come out to Dropkick Murphy’s “Shipping up to Boston.” Even though ND has the best band in the nation they can take a few minutes off. All the fans will have their LED lights and above the press box will be either green fireworks (think the same ones used at Super Bowls) or the green lasers previously mentioned in this thread.
The Uniform: Personally I would like to see an all green with gold helmet (with shamrock). And since it was already talked about: some glow-in-the-dark piping on the uniform. Leave the team in the tunnel and put up a black drape so fans cannot see what is going on. Shine a ton of light on the team/uniform so when they pull back the drape you see the team for the first time ‘glowing.’ Once the team is ready to come out of the tunnel put a lot of green back-lighting on them. So if you are USC standing on the sideline looking into the tunnel all you see is green light coming out from the tunnel and silhouettes of the players.
When all of this is over the game will go on as normal. All of the fans will be wearing green and the glow in the dark piping on the uniform won’t be noticeable. The stadium will be ROCKING and the recruits will be swooning.
Alright naysayers…let me have it. Even better, let’s hear some other ideas….

Here ya go, according to an II poster.
Please, for the love of God, do not subject us to something so hideous. We have great uniforms as-is. I'm all for adding a twist or whatever (thought our whites vs. Michigan were excellent), but why would we want to ditch our classic uniforms for something so incredibly chintzy looking?
If we aren't going with green then I'd honestly prefer we just wear our regular uniforms. You know, the ones that are the best uniforms in the country? Those ones?
I agree the regular uniforms are great. Have you seen the Ohio University video of the team seeing their black uniforms for the first time? What if just one of the blue-chip recruits gets that excited about what ND might wear for this game? We will always have the regular uniforms to go to. It doesn't hurt to bring some excitement every once and a while.

Let's go old school, Hornung-style. No logos, just the number front and back. Everyone wears the 3/4 under sleeves.

These with the green trimmed black shamrock
I've been hearing some whispers about a big uniform surprise for the SC game. Whats the story? Someone around here has to know...
Lose the stripes and put a navy shamrock on the helmets.

It's not just about the fans. It's about the kids on the team. The get fired up about stuff like this. I have no clue if this jersey will ever make it in the locker room at ND, but I'm 100% not opposed to seeing an alternate jersey like this. I think it'd be fun and the kids would love it.

I did see that video a week or so ago, and I thought it was awesome. There are two key differences, though:
1. Ohio's regular uniforms aren't the best unis in the country.
2. Those black uniforms they unveiled were legitimately awesome. The iterations of the Notre Dame uniforms being thrown out here are beyond hideous. Those all-gold uniforms would be the worst uniforms ever worn in any sport at any level. I think I would try to find the game on radio, that is how ugly they are. My guess is breaking those out would hurt recruiting more than it would help. You'd basically limit yourself to colorblind football players at that point.
It isn't as much about tradition for me as it is about taste. If they come out with a green version of the unis they wore at Michigan I would be ecstatic. But don't wear something horrible just to do something different.
Nobody would or could love that all-gold uniform. It looks like sparkly vomit. But I agree with your bigger point that if they can do something that the kids will like and isn't totally offensive to anyone with a somewhat-refined color palate, then go for it.

Can you try making the inner number white, please?
